I hated seeing Frankie so upset. I hadn't heard from her since last night and it felt wrong. Like I could physically feel her pain but I didn't know what it was about.

We read through the script for all of fourth period, always stopping before the end. She'd lightened up some but she still had all these shadows in her eyes so I just went for it.

"We should probably rehearse the kiss."

"Why?" She didn't look suspicious.

"We don't want to miss or anything while on stage." Where did I even get that from?

Her eyes got big and she blushed. "No, we don't."

Was she blushing because she wanted to kiss me? Because I could work with that. I leaned in slowly.

"Oh." She looked surprised before meeting me, not slow at all.

I blinked in surprise because she kissed me like it wasn't our second time doing this. Then I realized how soft and cool her lips were and closed my eyes to get into it.

She backed away and I almost opened my eyes but then she was back and stronger than ever. She was truly kissing me. She licked my bottom lip so I opened my mouth and she came inside to do some damage.

I was shocked by her boldness. She could kiss! She was kissing me like she wanted more than a single kiss. So I wrapped my arms around her loosely.

I thought I went too far because she grabbed my arms but she just made me hold her better. She wrapped her arms around my neck.

And that was how we stayed until the bell rang; kissing.

She heard the bell before I did and backed away, lips a dark red and swollen. "You have fifth period, Mister."

I didn't give a damn about fifth period! I wanted to kiss her more!

She smiled slowly. "Hunt. Go to class. We can rehearse- tomorrow."

"What about seventh period?" I didn't want to wait at all but a full day? Nope!

"We can spend five minutes rehearsing but no. You need help. I'm not letting you fail."

I huffed and hung my head but that kiss was the best of my life and I just wanted to keep doing it. "Fine."

"Cuz I'm crazy for wanting you to graduate on time." I could feel her looking at me.

I pouted. She laughed. "I'll go to class."

"Good." She kissed my cheek.

I blinked because that couldn't have been for the play.

"Now go." She waved me up.

"Do you at least feel better?" I stalled.

She stared at me before nodding. "Thanks, Hunt."

I smiled at her before kissing her cheek back and running. I could hear her laughter behind me but I hurried to get to fifth period.

I sat at a desk and tried to pretend I wanted to learn about history but I could just remember the past 65 minutes with Frankie. If the bell hadn't rang, where would we be now?

That thought was going nowhere safe so I tried to pay attention. But it was hard.

Seventh period came so slowly. It was like it knew I wanted to see Frankie again and stalled so I couldn't be happy.

But it finally happened and I ran to the library.
