The week between Christmas and New Year took so long but I had fun anyway. I saw my friends and we exchanged gifts.

I felt bad because Hunt and I spoke so naughty on the phone that day but wasn't I supposed to be fixing him up with Stacey?

Speaking of Stacey, she'd been acting really strange for two months. I didn't even know how to describe it but she kept bringing up things from freshman year and talking about softball stuff (which I was totally over now that I'd never play it again).

Did she think like Bradley? That I was pulling away? Did Jay and Tia think that, too? If so, I had to disabuse them of that notion expeditiously.

My friends kept me sane without ever realizing it and I wanted to return the favor.

So I pulled Stacey aside to tell her that I couldn't in good faith try to hook her up with Hunt.

"That's okay."

I blinked. What?! "What?"

"That's okay." She repeated.

"But-? You were so gung ho for him."

"I'm over him." She waved a hand.

"How?!" Burst out. I mean if I had Hunt, I'd never tire of him.

"I've got my eye on someone else." She looked at me meaningfully but I missed the meaning entirely.

"Do I know him?" Was it Bradley? Ew...

"It's not a him." She rolled her eyes.

I blew out a breath. "Thank everything."

"You were right. I'm a lesbian. It's time I start acting like it."

I hugged her. "That's my girl. And we're going to find the best girl for you."

She squeezed me tight. "Good Frankie."

I didn't think I had a praise kink but I totally loved the sound of that. "Thank you. Now let's get back to these hags before they think we're leaving them out."

She giggled. "Let's."

I had a little black glittery dress on for the Daniels' party. Thank everything I'd be inside all night cuz I was only wearing panties and jewelry. Technically I wore lipstick but that was it.

I stepped into my heels and grabbed my purse and my wrap so Hunt could come get me. I left my room and went downstairs.

It was nine o'clock so Nae was already in the bed and Johnny was on his way.

Momma looked me over. "Where are you going?"

"Party." I made sure my hair was laying nicely as I checked my phone. Hunt texted that he was pulling up.

"Who are you going with?"

"Are you going with Hunter?" Livie asked.

"Yeah. It's his parents' party." I told her.

"I wish I could go."

"His brothers are all so old." I wrinkled my nose at her.

She giggled the way I wanted.

"I gotta go. I'll see you tomorrow." I opened the door and blew out.

Hunt was standing outside the porch. "Hey!"

"Hey!" I opened the screen door and stepped out.

He eyed me from head to toe but my long coat covered everything. "Ready?"
