Chapter 12: The tunnels

The vent guides you to the Utility Tunnels. Frederic helps you get out of the vent without any scratches. 

" - Thanks, Frederic.

- My pleasure."

He switches his flashlight on, revealing your surroundings. He looks at your map.

"So... we are here and we need to get there." He says as he points out the entry and the exit of the tunnels.

You start walking together when he abruptly takes your hand. You blush harshly and look at him.

"I-I just want to make sure you will stay by my side and not get lost in this underground maze." He stutters, blushing a lot aswell.

You simply nod as you enter another tunnel. He forces you to stop moving.

" - What's going on-

- Quiet!"

He darts his light towards an endoskeletton.

" - This is bad... very bad...

- What do you mean?

- Listen up, one of us will have to keep an eye on that robot if we want to get out alive. If it isn't watched, it will come for us.

- Okay."

You keep progressing in the tunnels while you keep watching the endo. As you reach the corner of the hallway, you turn back to look at your companion. Then you turn back once again and let out a little scream. The robot is standing right in front of you, looking down at you.

" - Do not lose track on it!

- Sorry."

You turn left and find another vent.

"I think we will be safe here, but we need to hurry up!"

You two quickly climb into the duct and start advancing, crouching. You hear a faint cymbal sound. Frederic gasps.

"We have to hurry up!"

You turn back and see a tiny creepy Music Man behind you. You gulp and crouch-sprint. You finally get out of the conduit and see a door picturing an endoskeletton holding a balloon next to a little girl.

" - Once you are ready to go, just press the button and the door will open, Frederic tells you.

- Alright. I just need a moment."

You sit down on the floor, your friend crouching besides you.

" - Is everything okay?

- Well, it's just that... This situation gives me the creeps. First I am trapped in a maze, I'm hunted by the nightmarish form of the daycare attendant, then the animatronics and that weird psycho female rabbit, and now I have to face robots that could kill me in an instant if I don't keep an eye on them. I don't think I'll be able to survive the night."

You start crying. He grabs your shoulders and turns you towards him.

"Hey, hey, look at me! Everything is going to be okay. We are going to make it through this night together. You are not alone, you can count on me. I'll keep you safe and sound from anything that wants to hurt you, even if I have to sacrifice my life for you. I understand that it takes a lot of courage to do this, but you are stronger than you can ever imagine. We have to survive for 2 hours and 45 minutes. We are going to fight for our lives, aren't we?"

You look up at him and nod.

"Good. Now, once you're ready, let's show those robots what we are capable of!"

You stand up, a breath of live giving you the strength to move forward.

" - I am prepared.

- Let's do this."

You press the button and the door leading to the next room opens.
