As usual, your alarm clock wakes you up from your sweet dreams at 5 AM with its unpleasant loud and high-pitched buzzer. After turning the annoying sound off, you get up and open the curtains, watching the monotonous grey sky. Today is going to be another boring sunless day. It seems like the sun decided to go on holiday despite being in the middle of July. You sigh, exhausted. Once again, you stayed up late and didn't get enough sleep. Although your mind is used to this, your body doesn't want to accept your tiredness.

Fortunately, your breakfast is one of the few sparks of pleasure you have the chance to get every day, because you can cook [favorite breakfast] as much as you want.

Once you're done having breakfast and getting yourself ready for your work, you lock your door behind you as you step outside, ready to go through another usual day.

After a few minutes of driving on the wet road, as rain started pouring as soon as you got into your vehicle, you finally arrive to  Uncle Jack's Family Dinner. The place is supposed to be a pizzeria but it looks more like a dump than anything that could be similar to a friendly place where kids eat slices of pizza all day while watching animatronics performing on a stage.

Pushing the rusty door, you immediately encounter your boss, Jack Kennedy.

" - Employee! You finally arrived. I was waiting for you.

 - Good morning, boss. Always on time, as you can see.

- Of course, better keep it that way. Phoney has to inform you about your schedule for today. I need to go, see you in a month, if you're still here...

- Um, sure, boss. Have a nice day."

He slams the door without replying.

"Well, this was a brief discussion." You think.

Shortly after your boss's depart, you meet Phone Guy.

" - Hello, hello?! Oh, um, good morning, [Y/n]! How are you doing today?

- Hi Phoney! I'm fine, thanks, how about you?

- Besides my daily headaches, I'm alright.

- But... your head's a phone...

- So what?! Would you prefer "phoneaches" maybe?!

- No! I mean... whatever, say what pleases you the most.

- Anyway, let's get straight to the point, [Y/n]. I need to tell you about a very important subject which is related to you.

- Have I done something wrong?

- Well... let's talk about this in the safe room, shall we?"

Without giving you the time to answer, he takes you to the said room.

" - Phoney, please, tell me what's going on!

- Um... do you remember that day when you accidentaly bumped into a toddler and made him cry?

- It was two days ago.

- Wait, really? Dang, I have such a short memory. Anyway, the parents complained about your liability to the boss.

- And?"

Cold sweats and shivers run down your spine, expecting the worst to happen.

" - He was really angry that day for some unknown reason. When he heard about the accident, he got mad and told me he was going to fire you.

- Wait, what?! It was just a tiny mishap!

- I know, [Y/n], but you know that once he decided something, he's as stubborn as an ox and won't let go. I am sorry for you.

- Thank you for your compassion, Phoney.

- I will miss you, [Y/n]. You were a good colleague despite your clumsiness.

- No need to get emotional like that."

You hug him, tears streaming down your face. He hugs you back tightly.

"If I could cry, I would."

He lets you go and hands you a letter.

"This is it... your firing letter..."

You take the paper with shaky hands, saying your last goodbye, then leave the building whilst the rain is still falling from the dark grey clouds.

You drive back to your home and proceed to have a mental breakdown when you receive a message on your phone...
