Hey sis/bro/sibling (sorry I don't really know how to say it for non-binary people so I'll just go with "sibling")! What's up?

Ryan.

He's the one sending you this message after the beginning of this horrible day.

You two met each other by accident, but you quickly got to know each other and soon you were friends, turning into best friends in a couple of months at the point of considering each other as siblings.

Hey, Ryan...

Are you okay? I know what those three dots mean: something's wrong.

I've just been fired.

WAIT, WHAT?!! HOW?!

I accidently hurt one of our customers. The boss got mad and fired me.

All of this for a small collision?!

Yep.

You're at home?

I am. Why do you ask?

Stay in there.

Why?

He didn't reply. You sigh. A few minutes later, you hear someone ringing the doorbell. You get up, still wearing your work clothes, and go open the door.

Ryan is standing under the pouring rain, holding your favorite drink and your favorite snacks.

" - Ryan, what are you-

- Hush! It's comfort time! Bedroom or living room?

- I- Uh- Fine, bedroom.

- Alrighty!"

You both climb the stairs and get to your room. He places the drink and the snacks on your desk.

"Stay here, I have one last thing to bring."

He rushes back outside and gets back with a [favorite color] [favorite tissue fabric] blanket.

"Now, get yourself comfortable on the bed."

You look up at him with wide eyes.

"Not in THAT way..." He chuckles.

You smile at him and sit on the bed, your back against the head of it. He covers you with the blanket and gives you the drink and the snacks before sitting on the bed aswell, right next to you.

"- Now we can talk. So, tell me, what happened exactly?

- I don't really want to talk about it, sorry.

- It's fine, I understand. Is there anything else I can do for you?

- You've already done too much, you know.

 - Some things never change."

You lay your head on his shoulder.

" - Stay with me, please.

- Of course." He whispers, running his fingers through your hair.

You two stay immobile, listening to the rain dripping on the window.

"Are you going to drink or do you want to keep it intact as a relic?"

You flinch lightly then starts drinking and eating the snacks.

" - Hey, [Y/n]! Remember how we met?

- Of course I do! It was on the 11th January 20XX.

- Wait, you even remember the exact date?

- 06:28 PM.

- Okay, now you're scaring me." He giggles.

You laugh together for a little while.

" - Anyway, what did you want to tell me?

- Nothing in particular. I just wanted to remember with you how we went from strangers to almost siblings in such a short amount of time.

- There are some stuff that I forgot yet some details that I remember very clearly.

- Like what?

- Something you once told me when I was in my darkest."

He stands up and recites priestly the three sentences:

"Whenever you get hurt, I'll be here to heal you.

Whenever you fall down, just remember I'll be here to pick you back up.

Whenever you are alone in the darkness, I'll come and light the way."

You cackle at his mimic.

You spend a few hours together, talking about little things and playing games together.

" - Oh, by the way, I forgot to ask you something very important.

- What is it?

- When is your birthday again?

- Ryan, are you kidding me? It's tomorrow!

- WHAT?!!"

He quickly stands up.

" - Hey, where are you going?

- Um, I suddenly forgot I needed to do something very important!

- Alright. Don't forget my birthday!

- I won't, I promise! See you!"

He leaves in a hurry. You stay still for a few seconds, then decide to clean the mess you two made in your bedroom. You go through the rest of the day without anything else happening to you.

Tomorrow is another day full of surprises...
