"We should go" Charlie said while now facing the donut shop that stood in front of us. I followed his view and was staring at the core of my happiness when I was only young.

10 years ago

"Dad please can we stop on the way to nana's house? I'm really hungry." I plead. "No Aer, nana has food at her house so you'll just have to wait" My dad said with smiling eyes. "What about the donuts?" I spoke in a mischievousvoice. "Ok fine but just because it's our favorite, when you get older I'm going to bug you on how you always make me come to this shop only to get donuts" Dad said with a deep chuckle afterwards.

We entered the shop with true excitement and hope of getting our favorites, I always ordered for us. "Ok sir we will have a dozen of boston cream and chocolate donuts please thank you" I said with my head just reaching over the counter. "Ok ma'm that will be 10.50" I reached into my small purse with princesses all over it and pulled out 10.00 dollars my dad gave me earlier and gave it to the man. My dad gave him the .50 cents and we left with honest smiles on our faces. "Did you forget your chocolate Aeron?" Ms.Reinheart said walking up to me and handing me the small chocolate wrapped in a pink and brown wrapper. "Thank you Ms.Reinheart!" I spoke with a cheerful tone that was genuine. "No problem labybug, enjoy". We left with smiles plastered on our faces ready to eat our donuts we always shared. The next day dad was gone, that was the last time I saw him.

What was in front of me was the donut place and that's when I broke. I was in pure and raw shock. I couldn't believe out of all places to stop it was here. I have a strong desire to go and she Ms.Reinheart again. "What's wrong?" Charlie said looking back at me.

"My dad used to take me hear when I was like 7 years old, we used to always get the boston cream and chocolate donuts on our way to nana's house. That was before he....he um....left" I mumbled looking down at my lap. It was silent for what felt like an hour but was only a minute.

"Lets go" Charlie said and hopped out the car. He opened the door for me and held my hand as we walked into my old source of bliss. Once we walked inside of the shop it was exactly how it was when we left it. There was pictures of coffee beans and and donuts on the walls. There was also pictures of the family that owned the place which added a more authentic touch.

We walked up to the same counter I used to be to short to barley reach it and now I'm towering over it, it really has been that long. "Welcome to Knapp's donut shop how may I help you?" Ms.Reinheart said. She was the owner and she always gave me a small dove chocolate before I left, she was like my third grandma.

"Oh my god Aeron is that you! I haven't seen you in so long! how have you been?" She said with a toothy smile. "I've been good, it's been a total of 10 years since I came here" I said giving her a polite smile." Oh come here ladybug" She walked around the counter and gave me a long well-needed hug.

It felt good to see her again, she reminds me there are still good in this world, I missed her. Once we broke apart she went back around the counter. "I see you have a boyfriend now, you're father would be proud" Ms.Reinheart said with her country accent that felt like home every time she spoke.

Me and Charlie looked at each. "Um, we actually aren't dating but he is a really good friend of mine and has helped me through a lot" I said still looking at Charlie I snapped out of it and looked back at Ms.Reinheart and she was smiling at us. "I'm glad to hear ladybug, now lets get on to the order. Do you want your regular?" I nodded in response.

A few minutes later she came out with a box of donuts and a small dove chocolate sitting on top of it. "Thank you ladybug, for not leaving me" She gave me one last hug and went back around the counter and waved goodbye as me and Charlie left.
