I was sitting in my room staring at the ceiling thinking about everything. I mean everything. I was contemplating whether or not to cancel the date or actually go, i was thinking about Summer and wondering if she was lying to me for the sake of my feelings.

She always finds a way to put her feelings aside for the sake of others, that's one thing that always bugs me about her. You can never find out how she actually feels because she's always hiding her opinions and thoughts.

I hear light footsteps thumping on each staircase, inching closer to the door. I then hear a gentle knock against my bedroom door, it sounded like the person was barley touching it.

"Come in" I sit up straight from my previous position on my bed.

The gold doorknob twists and a face I haven't seen in the longest time appears.

Kayla.

No words escape her mouth, she gives me a half smile and then walks inside of my bedroom leaving the door behind her ajar. She walks over, with her black converse hitting the carpet flooring as it dips in with each step. She sits at the foot of my bed by my feet.

She was wearing a ramones tee cut short, paired with black distressed shorts and a black sling bag, her wavy purple hair was let loose.

"I think I owe you an apology" She intertwines her thin fingers and places her hands on her lap. Kayla continues.

"I've been a terrible friend to you, the person you end up falling for is up to you not me, you pick your friends and any boyfriends you'll have. Not me. I wanted to all apologize for judging Charlie before I got to know him like you do. I know that 'kenzie was lying to me and everyone else about sleeping with Charlie and I was waaaay to quick to judge him before I got to know him. That was wrong and even if it did happen, I'm not saying it did, it's not up to me to call the shots for you. You're your own person Aeron." She looked up at me. "Don't let stupid people like me tell you what to do. You are the only person who can tell whats best for you, not me. Not Summer. Not your mom. Not your dad. You and only you can."

She gulped and unfolded her hands, she opened her tanned arms as a sign for a hug.

I moved closer closer to her and gave her a long well needed hug. "I forgive you".

"Thank fucking god, that was a long month of us not talking to each other". We parted and went back to our pervious spots, except this time I was sitting next to her letting my bare feet touch the floor.

"So.....what did I miss? Are you and Charlie a thing? Did you lose any friends? Are you still best friends with Summer? Are you dating anyone? Tell me!" She let a soft chuckle escape her lips.

"No, no, yes and maybe?" The last response I said sounding clearly unsure. I don't think me and Luke would count as dating.

"Ok who is this maybe dude?"

"L-luke" Her mouth started to gap open in shock. "Not your Luke! Another Luke, plus he goes by his nickname while yours goes by his full name"

"That's true. Tell me  about him" She got closer as if she was a child listening to a story.

"H-he's nice i guess, his friends are complete assholes but he's different I guess. He's popular and I honestly thought he thought I was a freak like everyone else like him did but he didn't. He actually told me that he thought I hated him, weird right?" I start to play with the ends of my hair fiddling with the split ends.

"He might just be playing an act just to get in your pants, guys can and will do that. But it's not up to me who you decide to date, just a piece of advice" She looked back down at her lap and started to pick at her finger nails that were covered in chipped black nail polish.

"Thanks but I don't think he's like that, besides if he was he would be flirting a lot more then h-he is now" I gave a quick laugh after I spoke. There was a long silence that entered the room waiting to be filled.

"Oh I almost forgot" She turned around and reached in her  black sling bag searching for something that I was still clueless about. After a little amount of time she took looking for it, she turned back around with a small slim black box that looked like a jewelry box.

"Here, I wanted to give you something to go along with my apology, it's something that I wanted to get for you. You know, so you always have something that reminds you of me. But it's not like I live far away or anything but if we ever do part ways or lose touch you'll know that our friendship is still there" She smiled. Not a long heart felt one but a quick awkward one, I knew something was up but I decided to just ignore it and pretend I didn't notice it.

She handed the small box to me and I could see the gold writing across it, alex and ani. I'v always wanted to get one of these bracelets but there over priced so I never even bothered.

I glance at here for a half a second then look back at the box and open it, a gold bracelet sits within the container, its beautiful. "It's called a unexpected miracles pull....tree...chain or some long shit like that" There was a tree form at the end of the bracelet, it was amazing. She had out done herself.

"Thank you, I love it" I said. She took the box from my grasp and placed it on my bed, she then took out the bracelet "give me your wrist". I placed my sleeve covered wrist in her hand, she tried to pull back the sleeve but i held onto it. She tried again but still left unsuccessful from my tight grip. Kayla pursed her lips then let out a soft sigh following it.

"So you do it too huh? I thought you weren't as bad as me but It's ok, I  know what it's like to cut. I won't judge just let me pull the sleeve down so I can quickly put on the bracelet, ok?" I gave her a small nod and then slowly let the grasp I once had on my sleeve disappear.

She didn't look any of the scars or fresh cuts, she didn't stare. She didn't make any side comments. She just put the bracelet on my wrist and said "It looks nice"  I gave her a shaky smile after she put the bracelet on, I looked at the jewelry and smiled. I kind of felt like she cared. And as if she could read my mind, she told me "I care".

She gave me one last hug before she picked up her bag and stood up letting here shoes dip into the carpet once more. She walked towards the door and before leaving she turned around. "Call me or some shit you dork" She walked out closing the door behind her.

That's my Kayla.
