"Natsu is probably still asleep on the couch." Ryoko jokes.
"You're probably right about that."
As Ryoko and I make our way make to our car, we discussed different theories as to why Bonten has taken a serious interest in the Yakuza, or more specially, my squad. Bonten is one of Japan's leading crime syndicates, constantly in battle with the Yakuza over the position of top dog. Bonten is lead by a mysterious figure and eight different executives who identities are as mysterious as their leaders is.
Their whole group is one big mystery when it comes to identification. They have there arms dipped into the same stuff the Yakuza has, such as prostitution, money laundering, gun trafficking, drug sales, and a plethora of other issues.
But why is Bonten looking into my squad of all squads? My squad and I have made a pretty big name for ourselves in the underworld, but is it enough for Bonten to perceive us as a threat? It could be, but why?
"The identity of the executives and the leader of Bonten are completely unknown, right?" Ryoko questions as he drives down the interstate, back to headquarters.
"I believe so. I honestly don't pay much mind to them since we've never really needed to, at least our squad hasn't. I know that some of the other squads may have butt heads with them in the past. We, as the only assassins squad, have never knowingly come face to face with them to stir up some sort of issue, until now,' I glance out the window, watching how the lights of the city dance in the moonlight, 'We'll have to do some research on them before our next mission so we know what we're dealing with."
We arrive back at our base, located in a mansion in the outskirts of the Shibuya Ward. Now you may be wondering, why would our headquarters be located in the outskirts of Shibuya and not in the heart of the city? Well, the Yakuza has many satellite buildings located all throughout Japan, but my squad and I decided for simplicities sake that it would be a lot easier for all of us to live under the same roof since we are constantly out on missions together anyway. And there's only four of us so there's plenty of room for us here.
Once we park in the large garage, I take my leave from the car with Ryoko following. I remember to grab the manila folders that we took from the target from the car so I can debrief my squad on our findings.
"Hello? We're home!" I yell into the three-story mansion, wondering if Natsu and Ayuri are currently here. As soon as I yell, I heard the scampering of two sets of footsteps echo through the large hallways of the mansion.
"Welcome back!" As soon as I looked down, I was faced with a ginger mop of hair attaching itself to me in greeting, almost picking me up and swinging me off of the ground.
"LET ME DOWN! LET ME DOWN!" I laugh and scream playfully at Ayuri as she continues to lift me off of the ground. I constantly forget that this 5'2" girl is this strong but I guess that's the reason why I employed her in the first place.
"NEVER!" Ayuri screams as she tightens her grip on me and swings me around. I pound on her back, begging to be let go until another individual comes up behind me and grabs a hold of my legs, working in tandem with Ayuri, swinging me back and forth.
"STOP IT NATSU!" I scream even louder, getting nervous that my two chaotic friends would suddenly throw me to the ground.
"Guys! Let her go!" My brother yells as he chases us all over the first floor of the mansion.
"MWAH HAHAH!" Natsu begins to yell until he and Ayuri abruptly stop in front of the couch with mischievous looks on their faces.
"G-guys...what are you doing?" I stutter nervously as I look back and forth at the faces of my executives.
