Chapter 24: Early wakings

Sidon's POV

1:13AM

I slowly moved a sleeping Link off of my chest and onto the bed so I could get our things ready for when we leave tonight but he started whimpering in his sleep which worried me and the only thing that was going through my mind was help him. I picked Link up and cuddled him into my lap and stroked his hair "Link..." I say softly "wake up, Link" he had heard me because his breathing got faster "open your eyes." And as i said that he did waking in a state of panic but then he realised were he was and that he was safe but then he started sobbing.

"Whats wrong baby?" I asked with concern. "I thought i was back there...back in the shrine of resurrection and that i never met you or saved Zelda." He signed calming down. "Its fine darling, your safe." I said in a soothing voice stroking his soft blonde locks.

"I love you, no matter what." I say with a kiss on kiss forehead. I felt his breathing deepen as he fell back to sleep, I watched him admiring all of his scars , i was scared for him. He's definitely brave but he's not immortal if he's not careful he will kill himself let alone something else killing him.

"I wish you would've told me sooner.. I could've helped." I whispered hoping her would hear me but knowing he wouldn't. Once again i slowly set him down on the bed and make our way over to our bags so that we our ready to leave at 2:15 since Zelda wants to get to Rito Village in the same day which i doubt will happen.

Time skip 1:45AM

Link's POV

I slowly open my eyes as i feel the warmth of Sidon's arms around my waist which made me smile slightly. "Morning darling." Sidon says making the back of my neck warm up. "Its hardly morning." I laugh and turn around to kiss him. "I love you." I say looking into his eyes lovingly "Oh Link, I couldn't live without you." Sidon says and pulls my waist closer to him and kisses me hard.

"We should probably get ready." I said to Sidon breaking our kiss, he nodded and made his way toward the clothes he laid out for us earlier. "Link..." I heard Sidon say in a low but very serious voice like he would when he was speaking to someone as prince. "Why didn't you tell me about all the problems you are dealing with?" I felt a tear daring to roll down my cheek when he said that.

"I thought you would..." i started as my voice started to break and slowly disappear "I thought you wouldn't love me if you knew i had to do that to feel good about myself." I signed to him before bursting into tears and running into his strong arms. I knew that when i was here i was safe, that he would protect me but one thing Sidon couldn't protect me from is myself and I'm scared. "Link i love you, i love you so so so much and nothing will ever change that" Sidon said his voice also breaking whilst stroking my hair.

After a few minutes of holding each other i finally pulled myself together and went to go get dressed. I wore my usual blue tunic and beige trousers and put my hair up into a small ponytail. I walked over to the door and whispered a thank you to Sidon and went to go and wake Zelda if she wasn't already awake. "Zel meet us need the front gates in 7 minutes we're ready to leave when you are." I said through the door and heard a muffled ok and make my way back to Sidon who looked very panicked and when he saw me he quickly hid something which made me suspicious but I shrugged it off.

"Are you ok? You look stressed." I asked him making my way over to our bags "I'm ok dear, just a bit worried about the journey,"he said with a sad smile. I motioned for him to come closer to me whilst i stared into his eyes they looked sad and i felt my heart break a little I hated seeing him sad.seeing my light ,my love so dark and miserable. I grabbed his waist and brought it toward so and hugged him as hard as i could keeping back my tears and i felt him return the embrace.

We stood like that for a few minutes before i remembered that Zelda was probably waiting for us at the gates "we should probably go and meet Zelda" i say still hugging him but less tightly, he nods and then kisses me on the forehead. We grab our things and then make our way to meet Zelda.
