First Fight.

[Star Breathing Forms]-A mixture of martial arts and blade work with the goal of physically crippling, dazing, piercing and smashing opponents limbs. Attacks are usually quick and rapid in succession.

[Some Months prior to marriage]

I was sent on my first mission to kill a demon that has supposedly been terrorising a nearby village.

Hopping in my heeled shoes from tree to tree in the dense forest. My white kimono, black hakama and blue haori fluttering in the wind. I stop at the village to observe.
"Oh there are leaves in my hair" I say swatting it out.

The sun begins to set so I quickly go to gather information from the locals. Walking over to a man sitting on a box looking at a charm in his hand.
"Uh hello there sir" I say trying to be polite as possible. "I'm wondering if anything unusual happened recently"

He looks me up and down giving me a look that said 'why is this young girl outside?'.
"What do you want?" He say in an annoyed and slightly panicked tone. "Young girls like you should stay inside. It's getting late" his words though seeming rude held some trace of worry.

I sit down next to the man.
"Come on sir. I know you are worried about something. Just tell me. Oh I know, if you do I will personally read your fortune!" I say puffing up my chest. The man just gives me a tired look.

Groaning a little, probably thinking he has nothing to lose begins to speak.
"For the past three days children have been disappearing." His voice getting lower in pitch and less and less pronounced. His eyes seem to be getting emptier with each word as he stares at the charm in his hands.

"Please, tell when this happened?"

"Around the time the sun finally sets. Maybe a little bit before."

"Anything unusual about the disappearance? A sign of a struggle? What kind of locations did the children frequent at this time?" I keep questioning

"I don't know. The kids usually played outside by the river at this time. But they know they should be back before dark. The only traces we found were leaves at the river and broken sticks. No blood or anything"

'No blood. Could the stream have washed it or them away? No, it can't be. The people would have noticed. I should go investigate'. I think to myself before clapping my hands and then holding the man's.
"Thank you very much sir! Ready for your fortune" I say with a smile.

"Guess so. I don't have anything else to lose." His voice devoid of emotion.

I turn over his hand revealing his palm. I trace my finger and make random lines on it and then compare it to mine. I then pull up a star chart I made yesterday and made some quiet incomprehensible muttering. I finally turn back to the man.

"Our encounter says that 'rapid waters shall still and your boat can sail'. I will manipulate the very inauspicious stars so fortune should favour your future". I then proceed to leap away and shout. "Please go inside"

The man just watches wondering what the jargon I just spewed meant before just his eyes relaxed. He smiled and just walked home.
"I don't believe you knew what you said kid but hope what you say is true"

I found the river. It was really just a small weak stream that ran by the village about 300 meters away. The stream was about half a kilometre away from the dense forest I entered from.

I walk along noticing nothing unusual besides leaves scattered about the sides or in the water and broken wooden splinters and shards. The sky is a red to blue gradient. I notice in the distance a kid walking along.
