Home sweet ho- why are there flowers everywhere?

Night had come, and you had returned to the town under the management of Lord Takashi. You walked through the empty streets, not even bothering to conceal yourself, as you made your way back to his manor.

"Oh fuck! Shit!" You yelped as you drew closer; a horrid smell permeated your nostrils and sickened you to the very core.

Trying your best not to cry, you looked to where the smell had come from, only to see two large purple trees propped up by the manor gates.

"Wisteria... my god, the stench is killing me." You groaned as you ran past them, covering your nose. Eventually, make your way to your shrine and swiftly alert your shrine workers of your return.

"Asuka," you called out.

In the blink of an eye, a shrine maiden appeared before you and bowed deeply.
"Yes Mistress." Asuka replied as she awaited your words.

"Has anything happened in my absence?"

"The Lord had planted those wisteria trees like you suggested and is attempting to create more or less a wall around the territory."

"Ah, yes... I forgot I had suggested that. It seems I must get used to this stench." You slightly groaned at the thought that the smell of wisteria would become a constant.
"Speaking of wisteria, how were your experiments?"

Asuka stood up before revealing several vials filled with lavender liquid.
"We had tested them out of the few demons we were able to catch as a group. You were correct on the poisonous effects it had on demons."

"You remembered to keep those demons gagged and blinded, and you had them instantly killed at any sign of resistance? We cannot let them know where they are." Lest that man learn of my plans.

"Of course, mistress! They were swiftly dealt with." She immediately responded. You stared at the vials filled with what was a concentrated wisteria syrup. You picked them up before dumping the contents into your mouth.

"Ugh... fuck!" You quietly cried out as you chose to sit down. Your skin began to have patches of purple, your veins bulged into a violet hue, and you began to cough up blood.

Before Asuka could rush to your aid, you quickly put your hand up, indicating that she had stopped. The demonic cells within you had slowly waged war against the wisteria. The patches of purple in your skin began to stop growing, and the intense internal damage began to heal, albeit slower than anticipated.

"That's potent, though not strong enough to kill powerful demons." You said, as you thought to yourself, what else you could do.

Wisteria, as you know, is the only thing able to kill or harm demons outside of nichirin blades and the sun, harming them to the point their regenerative abilities couldn't keep up.

However, the metal for blades is on Mount Yoko and watched by the swordsmith village. While the sun is basically useless if a person can't drag out a fight for hours, Finally out-damaging a demon's regeneration is something practically impossible for every demon.

"Asuka, has wisteria become a common theme in this city? I want people to have wisteria seeds with them all the time." You ordered.

"I shall inform the city lord about this."

"Good. Try to develop more serious concentrated wisteria syrups and different applications, such as burning wisteria oil and seeing how the gas would affect demons." You said this as you thought of countless applications for wisteria that Demon Slayer truly didn't explore outside of Shinobu.

"I shall, Mistress; however, you yourself are a demon. Are you not worried about yourself?" Asuka inquired.

You turned to her as you saw her worried expression. As your head shrine maiden, she was technically the closest to you. Moreover, she was the one who actively chose to join you.

"I'll be fine; I'm far more powerful than any demon you have seen. I'm more concerned about everyone else." You stated this as you attempted to retreat into your shrine.

Right before you closed the curtain, Asuka called out to you.

"Mistress, I'll do my best. I'll repay you for saving my life." She exclaimed, her eyes determined, holding no fear, unlike when you both first met.

You couldn't help but smile at this.

"You don't need to thank me. If only I got there in time, you would still be in your village with your fiancé." You recognised Asuka's resolve, yet you feel great pity for her. Though your stories don't have direct parallels, you both lost someone you truly cared about.

'Muzan... I will kill you eventually and save the main cast of Demon Slayer.'

~~~***~~~
You stare at the city at which you preside; the lavender hue of swaying wisteria was littered everywhere. Each house had a wisteria ornament placed on their door, and the act of burning this plant was becoming more common.
"To think 10 years have passed by," you whisper as you look at how the city has changed. You picked up a dumpling made by one of your shrine maidens, which was obviously filled with human flesh, and chewed.
In the city streets, people could be heard running around even at night. Torches and lanterns were lit up, star-themed decorations were hung around, and the sound of cheers and discussions could be heard.
"Mom! When does the festival start?"
"Can the stars really predict the future?"
"What do you think those shrine priests and priestesses are going to do this year?"
"I'm happy the Lord introduced the stargazing festival!"
"Who is this star-gazing woman?"
"She just showed up one day, and life got better because of her."
The sounds of people chattering away could be heard as one walked down the street. A man in his early 30s walked past sporting a red kimono, his long hair in a ponytail swaying with each step and in rhythm with the sword in his possession.
Hearing all the commotion about the festival, all he could say was-
"Star Gazing festival... she would have loved this."
[A/N: Hey... it's been a while. I'm almost done with my exams and decided to write this 10 hours before one. Hope you all enjoy this though it's short. If the name Asuka rings a bell, it's because she is the girl who was attacked in 'Stability and Stars']
