Chapter 4: Kickstart

After the race with Josh it was back to school a usual

But there felt like there was more tension than usual. Our Finals were coming up, three were big projects due and to top it off the school dance was fast approaching. That's not when the pressure second to come from though, it was coming from the student body itself.... Seems like word got out to students that Josh lost, so as butt hurt as the Popular kids seemed it also seemed like there was something brewing amongst the outcasts. I let out a sigh on my way to my film videography class, our final project for the semester would be announced and I was trying to figure out how I would make it happen. If it wasn't already obvious no one really wanted to work with me or help me. So finishing my projects of meant relying on my sister to help me finish. Not to mention Kiro being in this class too, it most definitely doesn't make anything any easier. 

Just before getting to class though, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I quickly turned taking my head phones off, I hadn't seen this kid around much but I knew of him, his name is Hyoga, he's a transfer student from Japan. He stuttered as he started to speak clearly not confidant or comfortable with Korean yet. I offered him a soft smile to interrupted him speaking in Japanese "Japanese is your mother tongue right? Feel free to use it to talk to me." I assured him and his nervousness gave way to a smile happy to know he didn't have to struggle to communicate. "Umm well I Just wanted to say I saw a video of your race... and well...I-I.. I think its brave of You to have stood up to Josh like that and I hope that we can be friends!"

To say I was surprised was an understatement "What I did wasn't anything special, I had a point to prove Is all its not like I'm someone anyone can look up to. But as for that friend thing I'll take you up on that. It never hurts to have someone who gets it on your side. " I replied then looked at the time "Ah you better get going you'll be late, See ya around?" I ask and he nods turns off and I turn and continue into the class room not sure what to expect. As I walked to my seat I saw Kiro at his station a few girls crowding as always and I rolled my eyes both in disgust and annoyance at how girls could fawn and adore him when he rally is a jerk then again he probably doesn't let the others see his true nature. I took my seat at my station and set down my computer bag and out of it I took out my SD cards, drives, adapter cables my camera and last my laptop. You could say I started this as a hobby but now its what I see as my future career, video editing and cinematography and maybe acting on the side. Of course being that I'm so young it's raw talent and I wouldn't sat that I'm up there with great cinematographers or directors but definitely good enough for a couple thousand views on YouTube and TikTok.

I plugged one of my drives into my computer as I logged on and started to work on a little side Project of mine while I waited for class to start. I had put my headphones back on so I didn't near any one calling me, It wasn't until someone pulled my headphones off that I started to pay attention again "Oi! What gives?!" I turned around and snatched them back...it was Kiro of course it was and now I had him plus his whole little fan club staring at me. "What do you want? I ask turning back to my computer

"Oh come on I can't just be friendly and see what your working on?"

"Yeah, you be friendly very funny. Go back to your fan club and pretend I don't exist like everyone else yeah?" The annoyance in my voice more apparent than normal. I just wanted him to go away and before he could say anything snarky the teacher walked in and the bell rang and he narrowed his eyes before slinking back to his seat as other students filed in and got to their seats. I looked from the project on my computer to the board as the teacher began to write down the highlights of our final project on the board and when done started to explain

"Alright class Your Final assignment is to create a music video for a song that does not have one or create a story line and direct a music video. Whatever song you choose is up to you and you can use any and all resources available to you and you are allowed to partner up with a classmate. Just Remember, if you pair up the Final grade will be shared. Get to work and I'll pass out the rubric."
