Chapter 15: Ascend the Throne

Walking into school has never felt more refreshing, Students in my grade seemed much more at ease, I saw students that had typically been without someone have maybe one or two friends at their side. The student body felt more positive i could tell even though we were coming up on the most stressful time of the year.

I made my way to my locker and always waiting for me was Hyoga. This is how my mornings began all the time now. His presence would soon be followed by Kailan, then Minhee and Garram and then last as we left the locker bay we would meet Taesan. Since our group became friends this is just how its been. I smile and open my locker "Morning Hyoga" I hum entering the combination

"Morning Rhen, How was your weekend?" He asks and after dropping a few items in my locker i close the door and lean against it as i turn and face him "Oh that's right you weren't here yesterday. It was good, I was able to study and get this weeks events in order too"

"That's good, oh and here" He pulled a small satin jewelry bag out of his pocket and handed it to me "I thought you might like it, the jadeite can only be found in japan and I remember you saying you wanted a little trinket from there any time my family took a trip back home"

"Aww you didn't have to" I smile as I opened the pouch and found a very simple necklace with a small tear shaped jadeite pendant "Its pretty, Help me with the clasp?" I ask and he takes it from me as I hold my hair aside and he helps me put it on. Out little peaceful moment was soon interrupted by a familiar presence as well as a few unfamiliar. Why cant I have a peaceful morning for once my lord! I look towards Hyoga as he steps away but before I get a chance to speak my eyes see Kailan and then to the group standing behind her. My eyes shoot past her and lock on Eve whos fuming

"Eve" I speak with narrowed eyes as I pull my hair up into a ponytail "Is there something that I can do for you miss pretty princess?" I cant help but egg the situation on in my own way. She gets on my nerves but I remind myself to keep this civil there's too many eyes if an argument were to break out.

"So now you have another boy wrapped out your finger, cant you pick one?" Eve mused her snake like grin growing as if she's caught me in some kind of trap. And behind her I see a pair that make me freeze and I can help but think to myself "Lets hope that neither Josh nor Kiro saw what Hyoga just did." I roll my eyes glancing at the time on my phone 

"Hyoga and I are friends there's nothing wrong with that is there? And even if we were dating why would it matter to you? Oh that's right because you think every decent guy would want you and your entitled attitude" from the corner of my eyes I can see Hyoga's face get a bit flushed and he looked away from the group for a moment but I couldn't see what he did after since my focus was on Eve and Mirae

"Oh please." She scoffs her cackle making my face twice in annoyance and disgust "You know this wannabe act and all this fake confidence. It should really stop before the lie gets out. I mean come on whos gonna believe you just because your sisters an idol? Who could ever believe in a loser like you? I don't know where your confidence came from or how you did it but a loser like you should really remember their pla-"

"I'm sorry all I hear is your insecurity talking. Lets not forget that even Kiro doesn't want you" I laugh a little and pick up my bag "Also you don't have any power any more remember? Because Eve didn't your Daddy, our principal side with me? And Mirae, Your mother who is a counselor is also in support of me. And after the results I bring to them do you really think that they would be happy to know that their children were the cause of why I stepped out? So before you try and pick a fight with me remember your walking on thin ice with very little support if you go down." I scoff and give a smile as I see the rest of my friends join me "I'm not some one you can push around anymore and if you aren't careful you will find that your nothing more than stepping stones for me to get where I want. Bullies like you lot make me sick" Throwing my bag on my shoulder I walk away. Sure I sounded cocky but that's just because my mouth moves faster than my brain. I see my hands tremble as I head to class Hyoga and Garram following since they have class with me
