What I was about to start school was probably going to be the most disastrous things I could do. Not for me of course but it was definitely about to blow the popular girls out of the water and start to change the power dynamic of the school. On this chess board, in this game that I was playing with the boys I was finally making my first move. The brewing storm that had been developing since midterms when I started to pushback against Kiro was near. I'm still not sure how the others didn't see it coming but it made it even better, I know everyone was surprised when I started to come out of my shell. My true colors were starting to show that I would be a force to be reckoned with and I dared anyone to challenge me and my confidence. I made a promise to myself and this is when it started to become my reality.
Right after my clubs had been approved my sister and I started planning. There was so much that I wanted to do but we had already planned most of our activities. The first meeting for both clubs would just be me and one of my friends whom I had chosen as my vice president essentially and it would also be where we gathered our first members. Now the anti bullying club was my true gem and the first meeting had quite a few members and I was glad to see so many with an interest in the school environment. That day in the meeting I told them my plans and that they would get to meet the club sponsor at the next meeting but I did mention that it was my older sister. The way we would kick off the first week as a club would be a series of events, One day we would take a class period to warn about effects of bullying and that bullying can take many different forms but it would be overall to show just how dangerous it could be if it became widespread in our school but also to emphasize the need for a support network. The next thing that i wanted to do among the classes was a team building day where in our homeroom classes we all took the time to do icebreakers play a few games and start building our networks up more for those of us that had them and for others to actually start to develop one. The third event would be on Friday and it was the school wide assembly. My sister would be our speaker and she wasn't going to be there to beat the dead horse on the topic, she would be there to talk about the detrimental effects of bulling on your career as well as the mental health side of it all. Xion also volunteered to come in and talk about mentors which was important to him since it fell in the same vein as Jae'nas topics. Now that was just for my safe space club.
The arts club was going to be a lot less about school change and more so about fostering a creative community. For that our first week would be meet and greet as well as planning a school talent show and giving extra room for people to practice their performing arts and myself I would get to work on studio stuff while helping other students.
The first meeting for both clubs was a success and I couldn't have been happier. In total the official member roster for the Safe Space Club across all grades was 35 members and for the performing arts club there were 20 official members. Now with all the logistics explained let me tell you why this caused the hurricane.
The safe space club would be the reason things became a whirlwind hurricane. The first event students weren't really all that interested. Then again we had heard it a thousand times before, the same "Bullying is bad, it causes mental harm and creates other bullies." We knew this but I wanted the reminder in everyone's head as we went into the homeroom class on Wednesday. The student teacher were in classes on Monday so that had given everyone in all grades time to think all day Tuesday before Wednesday when the next event was. My home room was interesting since I was a grade ahead. I was in a homeroom class with Hyoga, Josh, Kiro, Mirae, Eve, Minhee, Garram, Taesan and 14 other students. I sighed as I realized what I had signed myself up for and the weight of trying to be a little more extroverted was getting to me now since I would have to start the conversation today, it was my idea after all
"This is about to be rough" I sighed to myself watching as students filed into the classroom. I was starting to space out especially as Josh and Kiro stepped into the room but as they did i felt an arm over my shoulder followed by a soothing tone
