Like I said things could only get more interesting leading up to the dance and thereafter and I wasn't kidding. After the whole midterms incident I had only caught josh's attention more and Kiro well I was now an obsession that he couldn't get away from. I was like a poison that was killing him slowly and painfully. I made it hard to get a read on me but he wasn't so hard to get a read on now. I had heard some whispers of what happened in the past with Kiro and what exactly happened when things didn't go his way. He also had a control issue and his tight reign on his grades were a consequence of that, if you could even call it that really.
The two boys were playing a losing battle now, but josh he kept throwing weird wrenches in my plan. I think part of him saw something relatable in me but he had a very strong curiosity as to why I reacted to things the way I did. What's even stranger is while he tested my boundaries and scared me the most he's the one that came up with a strange proposal while Kiro slowly started to lose it.
"You good Rhena? You've been acting weird all week" Hyoga pointed out, concern laced in his deep tone.
"Yeah I'm fine just a little shaken this week. I think the annoyance from everyone is getting to me that's all. I should be fine by next week. I was so glad that it was the weekend and that I just got to spend the morning with Hyoga and then I would be going to practice with the seniors again later and I really think that I needed the break because a lot had happened. "Lets not worry about that right now. I said giving a smile "What color should we wear for the dance. I thought it might be nice to match colors.
"what are your favorite colors?" Hyoga asked as we walked through the downtown streets of Seoul
"Hmm well I don't really care for bright colors but purple, blue, red and a deep forest green"
"Ah what if we did blue or green? Those are both uncommon but really pretty"
"I love the green idea! I think that would be really pretty and fairly easy to find." I smiled as we got to the café and I pulled the door open Hyoga following behind me and I looked at the menu as we joined the line "Have you gotten to explore around Seoul much since moving? there's so much to see and so many things to go do." I looked back at him
"not a lot, I spend a lot of time just studying but when I get a chance to go out I explore a new block close to my house."
"one weekend I'm gonna have to take you out and show you around, there's a lot of fun little destination spots"
"Yeah? I'll have to plan for that so we can go" He smiled and we went ahead and ordered before going and sitting down. we spent some time at the café talking and having fun, which I could tell he was happy and as was I. Neither of us really had many friends and maybe that's why we were friends. Well that along with the fact that I spoke Japanese which definitely helped when he struggled with words. I was just glad to finally have a real connection, someone that understood what it was like and was genuine about getting to know me. When the time came Hyoga walked me to the local rec center just so he didn't have to go straight home
"Today was fun, as always. Same time next week?" He asked as we stopped in front of the door
"Yeah ill meet you at the bus terminal around the same time as today I gave a smile and waved before going to head inside and going to go change. I knew that the seniors would be there soon and they would be on the court and I would just meet them there. However what I didn't expect was to run into Josh. Apparently he had taken up getting to learn from Xion so after i changed and headed down to the court and opened the door I stopped as I saw the two practicing. Even more surprising Josh was struggling just a bit. I had tried to tell him it would be easy. I watched the two play before Xion made another basket and just laughed
