Day two of the week brought its own set of challenges. While I managed to avoid any dreadful confrontations, the day was a test of my patience. Girls, with their catty and ridiculous behavior, continued to baffle me, especially when it came to bullying and jealousy.
Overhearing yet another round of gossip about me, this time involving the popular guys and the supposed obsession of Kiro and Josh, I couldn't contain my annoyance. Surrounded by whispers, I confronted the group of girls, shattering their illusion of privacy with a mixture of irritation and disgust.
"Really?" I asked, shutting my locker with a pointed emphasis. "Are we really gonna do this right now? Do you think I want their attention that bad? In all honesty, I wanna ring their necks every time I see them."
My bold response captured their attention, albeit not for the best reasons.
"Did you guys think you were talking amongst yourselves? The walls have ears; pay more attention next time." Irritated and disgusted with their attitude, I continued on my way, determined not to be late for my next class, even if it meant leaving my free period in the library.
"And where are you going?" Eve, the self-proclaimed ringleader, spoke with an air of entitlement.
"To class, where else?" I stated matter-of-factly. "As should you. Maybe you could actually learn something instead of copying. Maybe then that A you try to maintain would actually be yours." My straightforward honesty was bound to stir up trouble.
"Why, you little—"
"Little what? You gonna start a cat fight and run crying to your daddy in the assistant principal's office, saying I started it? Or maybe even run to Kiro and complain, seeking his attention? Go ahead, play the game, but you won't like what happens."
Fixing my piercing gaze on Eve as she raised her hand in retaliation, she hesitated. "Smart choice," I remarked with a glare, continuing on my way. However, my attempt to leave peacefully was thwarted as someone tripped me. Frustrated but determined not to escalate things physically, I warned, "Keep messing around, and I'll do worse." I pulled two of them down as I got to my feet.
"What is a little mouse like you gonna do? You don't have influence or power in this school. No one bothers to remember your name, and your grades are probably all bribed too," Mirae, a friend of Eve's, taunted.
Scoffing with a dry laugh, I rolled my eyes, fixing my gaze on the group. "I could set your whole lives on fire if I wanted to. Watch as everything collapsed.. Starting with this you start a fight here and there are witnesses, Cameras. You cant lie your way out and heaven forbid it makes it to the school board. Now, go pick on someone else. Calming myself I walked away trying to refocus my headspace so I could focus on English.
The rest of the day went fairly normal except the minor annoyances that just stressed me out more, nothing that I couldn't handle
Day three, Wednesday was probably the second
Upon arriving at school I was called into the principal office, apparently Eve had talked to her father probably whining about something. Intake my seat when getting to the office "Did something happen sir?" I ask
"I got word that you were threatening students yesterday. Is this true Rhena?"
I was worried for a second before shaking my head, technically speaking I hadn't. I had just strongly suggested I would do something. "No Sir, I have no idea where claims like that are coming from. I really just try to do my work and stay out of others way and help if I can. If anything there are some students bullying me but it's nothing bad I'll be fine. I'm sorry if that rumor has caused some issues" I explained. The principal was silent in thought for a moment before nodding
