Instead of leaving like Lilith and I planned, we stayed another night. We didn't have to pay for a room though. Chan let us sleep in theirs while they slept in the van.
I'm glad I didn't have to sleep in my car, but I'm about as awake as if I was.
I toss again, desperately trying to find a comfortable position to get some well needed rest. Nothing seems to be working.
Frustrated, I get out of bed and quietly pull on a jacket and put on my shoes. Then I walk to the desk in the corner and grab a key card and my phone. Before leaving I make sure Lilith is still sound asleep.
When I'm certain she's not conscious I slip out of the room and down the hall to the elevator. It takes no time for it to open and I'm off to the first floor.
The doors open and I step out into the foyer. The fluorescent lights were seriously a bad choice. A few lamps would've been fine.
Squinting as I walk I make my way out of a side exit door and towards my car. As I'm walking to my car I hear something. A gorgeous voice.
The voice is so powerful, so full of emotion. I stop so I can try to make out what is being said.
"And now I'm walking on my way, all alone, I'm feeling so cold. Not getting anywhere I feel like I'm in slow mode"
Oh, oh that's sad. Who's singing though?
I creep closer to try and snag a look at the person. The guy is sitting on the ground leaning against the boys' van.
I expected a random college dude, but I was met with Chan instead.
He can sing?
Upon recognizing him I sprint back to my car. I don't want to spook him because I want to hear the rest of it.
But before my hand touches my door handle I hear my name being called and footsteps approaching behind me.
"Y/N??" Chan says, jogging my direction.
I halt my movements and slowly turn around with an innocent smile on my face.
"Yeah?" I say, trying so hard to act like I just got here.
"Were you just spying on me?" He asks, a look of speculation across his features.
"What? No! I just came out of the door" I said, waving off his accusation and avoiding his gaze.
"You definitely were!" He responds, pointing to me with a victorious grin.
"Ugh, fine I was snooping. But only because I didn't know who belonged to that beautiful voice" I explained, rolling my eyes.
Chan looked to me in slight disbelief. The surprise still visible although his hood is covering most of him.
"You think my voice is beautiful?" He asks.
I fight for the right words, slightly taken aback by his question. Why wouldn't I? Does he not think it is?
"Absolutely I do! I could feel all of your emotions perfectly, your tone was heavenly, I could go on and on" I answered, looking into his eyes for a moment before turning around to open my car door and get in from embarrassment.
"Hey" He says, putting a hand on my shoulder to stop me.
I stop moving and look back to him.
"Thank you. That compliment means a lot actually" He confesses, a fond smile full of gratitude plastered on him.
I smile back and unlock the rest of my car before motioning to the passenger seat.
He takes the hint and walks around to the other side while I sit in my seat and close my door. Once he's seated I lock my doors and reach into the back seat for some extra blankets.
