Our bodies collided as we smacked the ground. I was on top of him, sprawled over his torso. My cheek landed against his left chest. Just as I was about to get up, Yuxuan locked me in with his arms.

"Unhand me!" I tried to pry his arms off. "Seriously, what is with you? This is very inappropriate, and very rude—"

The sound of a growling sound in the distance made me shut up. It wasn't a low growl. It was very loud. Maybe it was Yuxuan's tiger?

The growling sound echoed through the trees again, and this time I placed myself closer to Yuxuan. Why wasn't he doing anything? What if that mysterious creature came and attacked us?

I glanced at Yuxuan. His eyes were focused on the trees beside us. I heard the sound of leaves crunching. Something was definitely approaching us.

Swiftly, Yuxuan rolled over and grabbed onto his spear. Eventually, the creature he anticipated hopped out of the bushes. Sure enough, it was his tiger. But instead of attacking, it turned around towards the bushes again and growled.

Yuxuan held the spear up, ready for whatever was coming. If the tiger and Yuxuan were both on edge, there had to have been something more ferocious on the other side.

I scrambled up quickly and backed away.

Sure enough, a large brown bear darted toward them. I had never seen a bear up close before. This one was very large, and much taller than Yuxuan when it stood. It roared at us and I responded with a blood-curdling scream.

The bear was very disturbed by my fear-stricken reply. Yuxuan quickly drew his spear back and went to attack it, but the brown beast swiped his claws and knocked him aside.

I feared for Yuxuan's life. He didn't move after that hit. Was my only source of protection gone, just like that? The tiger attacked next but the bear intimidated it by standing on its back legs. The tiger clutched onto the bear's fur but the bear managed to get out of its hold.

While all this was happening, I decided to run. I took off in the opposite direction. It wasn't long before I saw the tiger being discarded aside from my peripheral.

The bear was after me next. Have you ever had that feeling where you know something terrifying is closing in on you? The anxiety before your adrenaline rush?

Because of that feeling, I ducked. The thin tree bark next to me was swiped clean. The bears rumbling got louder and I continued to run. But I couldn't do this for long. I wasn't used to all of this running.

My body gave out on me as I expected. "Please! Please don't eat me!" I cried, "Lord! Save me! Please! I swear it, I'll do everything my father says if you just let me live!" I clasped my hands together and prayed fervently.

The bear raised its claw. I prepared for death. My entire life flashed before my eyes. The claw clipped my front, tearing another one of my shirts halfway open. My bosom sagged forward immediately.

Then I saw the sharp end of Yuxuan's spear pierce through the bear's chest. Bits of the bear's blood splattered all over my skirt.

The bear went limp and was shoved aside, and that's when I saw Yuxuan gleaming with a bloodthirsty look in his eyes.

I gasped in horror, terrified by the graphic scene. Without any regard for my stomach, he killed the bear right on top of me.

"YOU REVOLTING WANKER!" I shouted at him, grieved by the abrupt visual. There was so much blood. Too much of it. I could even smell it. I had to calm down and... no, I had to vomit. I crawled over to a nearby bush and puked.

The chunks of fish and fruit I ate today sloshed their way onto the plant. Yuxuan held onto my shoulders, trying to comfort me. But honestly, his presence only disgusted me more.
