Lily sets her phone down on her chest, interlocking her fingers and putting her hands on her stomach, palms up, waiting for Caitlin to follow through with what she had commented on Lily's Instagram post. She's currently laying down on her extremely comfortable bed, having been scrolling through Tik Tok not even five minutes ago.

The two girls had met through Monika Czinano, Lily's cousin, and had immediately hit it off. This led to them eventually becoming roommates at the beginning of the younger girl's winter term at the University of Iowa. It was initially Caitlin's apartment, but due to a traumatizing experience in the dorms during the fall term, she opted out of it in exchange for a more comfortable environment.

She smiles to herself once she begins to hear Caitlin's footsteps in the hall leading up to her room. She looks down at herself to make sure she's wearing something presentable, and finds that she's wearing a top from Garage, one that conveniently showed off her cleavage, and some Nike Pro spandex shorts. Her hair is down, the curls she had perfected a few hours ago on each of her shoulders.

The doorknob turns and she finally sees Caitlin again since they had gotten back from Panera. The girl had changed out of the black straight jeans and simple black Nike top that she had worn to go out. She was now wearing some Iowa Basketball sweatpants and one of her old basketball camp shirts. Caitlin's dark brown hair was in a little man bun type of hairstyle, with the ends of her hair out of it.

"Why are you jealous of the love of my life, Mario?" She teases with a smile on her face, leaning against the wall, her tall frame evident even as her knees are a little bent.

"I'm not jealous," Lily crosses her arms and pouts, turning her gaze away from Caitlin. "You know what, maybe I will give Connor a chance."

She hears Caitlin scoff, and get up from where she was leaning to go lay on the other side of the blonde's double queen sized bed. "You wouldn't, considering the fact that you hate him more than you hate any Republican politician."

She dismissively hums, "and what if that changed within, what, two hours?"

Caitlin laughs under her breath, "I would think you have post-traumatic amnesia from a concussion, that's what."

The blonde sighs, accepting defeat and biting her tongue on what she really wants to say. I wanted you to get ready for me, but instead she simply mumbles, "You're right. Ever since he said that shit about women's sports, I've wanted to punt him across a lava field."

Lily feels Caitlin's eyes on her, examining every inch of her face. She turns her head towards her to see what she was doing when she notices the close proximity of the point guard.

Their noses are almost touching, and Lily has no doubt that if she moved just an inch, she would finally feel Caitlin's lips on hers.

"What?" she murmurs softly, not wanting to disturb the moment they're currently having.

"You're just beautiful, that's it," Caitlin whispered, her voice gaining a rasp, "way better than Mario."

"And, you've ruined it," Lily quips, turning her head around so that she can look at the ceiling.

The girl next to her laughs, her words having the effect she wanted it to. "You're my best friend, you know that right?"
