Miguel turns pale. His expression dropping, I've never seen him this distraught ever.

He turns his head slowly to Lyla and I can tell by the rapid rise and fall of his broad shoulders that he's extremely agitated.

"Qué dijiste Lyla?" He asks, barely a whisper.

"Well, it seems like y/n has a mix of DNA proceeding from different dimensions" Lyla explains calmly. She's AI so of course Miguel's change of mood doesn't affect her.

I, on the other hand, am scared. I've never seen him like this and that's why I'm not ready for when he starts throwing stuff around.

"THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE! SHE'S NOT LIKE HIM, THE SPIDER THAT BIT HER WAS SUPPOSED TO BITE HER!" He yells, he hasn't looked at me the whole time, as long as he takes the anger out on Lyla who doesn't have feelings and therefore can't be hurt, I'll be okay.

"THE SPIDER THAT BIT HER WAS FROM HER DIMENSION LYLA, HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?" He keeps screaming.

"I don't know yet sir, we have to put the sample through a more detailed test to see exactly what dimensions are part of her DNA" Lyla replies in her usual voice.

"WELL THEN DO THAT" he's not throwing things anymore but he's still yelling and my ears kinda hurt now.

"Do what?" Lyla teases him.

He doesn't say anything but probably shoots a dirty look at her because she says "Just kiddinggg. Already scanning"

There's a really long silence in which Miguel still doesn't face me. I'm sitting there admiring his muscled back as I watch his breathing slow down.

Eventually he starts moving, picking up the stuff that got thrown around and putting it all carefully back in place.

It bewilders me how someone can loose control completely and in a few seconds come back to their senses and start tiding up like they didn't just throw a fit.

I'm very still, maybe if I don't move he forgets there's literally an anomaly sitting behind him.

Once he's completely calm, he sits in front of me again. He can't look me in the eyes though, he can't even talk to me, he just stares at the floor until Lyla speaks again.

"Okay sooo, turns out... her DNA is composed of atoms from her original dimension, Earth 47... and also, um..."

"Get it over with Lyla" Miguel says in an annoyed tone.

"Earth 928" she finalizes.

He raises his head, finally making eye contact with me. "Take your watch off" he orders.

My eyes widen. I knew it, I'm being kicked out. He hates me now.

"Wha-" I start.

He grabs my arm, not in an aggressive manner though, which surprises me. And he removes the watch from my wrist.

He places it on the desk impatiently and turns back to me.

He stares at me for what feels like decades. My palms are sweating, I don't know what's happening but I have nowhere to go and I really don't want to get kicked out of this place.

I finally felt at home somewhere.

"She's not glitching" he announces to Lyla. She's not surprised.

He turns back to his computers and to Lyla, typing away at stuff again.

"So, somehow, even if she wasn't born here, she has equal parts of both dimensions, meaning she's able to live perfectly in both worlds. That's why she hasn't disappeared?" He keeps hypothesizing.
