Sleepwalker

"YOU WHAT?" Gwen shouts.

"WITH WHO?" Pav chimes in.

The whole cafeteria is looking at our table.

These guys are so discreet, wow.

"I just hope you did it to assert dominance you know? Authorities ain't got shit on you" Hobie interjects, pointing at me with a spoon full of pudding.

"Uhhh, I guess you could interpret it like that, yes" I agree with him. I totally had that in mind when I did it. I did not loose control of my own body at all.

He looks at me and nods approvingly. "Proud of ya mate."

"So who's next? Jessica?" Gwen asks sarcastically.

"OH OH, PETER!" Pav adds in with wide eyes.

All four of us burst into laughter. I swear there's not a boring day with these people.

"No guys but seriously do not tell ANYONE, us spider people like to gossip and I KNOW if someone outside our circle finds out, everyone else is gonna end up finding out." I say in a bit of a whisper.

"Find out what?" I hear Peter's voice behind me, mouth full if something. He sets his tray on the table and sits down next to me, Mayday on her baby carrier for once.

I reaaaally don't want to eat next to a baby.

"She has a terminal disease" Pav deadpans. I've never heard him say anything so casually, and it's Pav we're talking about.

Gwen starts laughing her ass off. Every time she tries to say something she starts wheezing and laughing again.

"Jesus Pav was there nothing else you could think of?" I ask, turning to Peter I open my mouth, about to tell him a more believable lie, but I can't think of one.

"Y/n sleepwalks. last night she walked into Gwens dorm room and started singing, basically put on a huge show, Lyla's got it all on camera" Hobie comes up with one in seconds.

I'm impressed, and also, my trust issues worsened a little.

Peter laughs it off and advises me to get Lyla to delete that. I agree and we move on from that topic.

After lunch, I head to my dorm. I didn't sleep at all last night and we went on a pretty exhausting mission this morning, so I'm gonna take a nap.

I plop down on my bed, not getting under the covers because I still have my suit on, in case I get called into a mission again.

My body is tired, but my mind is still thinking about yesterday.

Not just what happened with Miguel, but the fact that I'm from two different dimensions at the same time and can live in either without my cells decaying and disintegrating.

And also, he said something while he was throwing his little tantrum, about someone.

He said I wasn't like him.

So there's clearly information that I'm missing, something or someone that might have the answers as to why I'm from two different dimensions at the same time.

And I need to find out. Maybe find him.

I realize if I stay here alone with my thoughts, I'm never gonna get my much needed sleep.

So I walk out of my dorm and knock on Gwen's door.

I hear a "Come in!" And push the door as I step inside.

I close the door behind me and plop on her bed, she's sitting on the floor with a laptop playing some video game.

"What's up?" She asks.

"I couldn't sleep so I came here" I answer.

"Does my room have special sleep-inducing abilities that I do not know of?" She teases.

"Nah, I just didn't wanna be alone" I say softly, I'm yawning already. Gwen's presence always manages to calm me down somehow.

"Okay, but if I get tired and get in the bed too, don't steal my blankets again" she warns me.

I laugh, to what she replies "I'll kick you out, I'm being serious" I can hear the smile in her voice though.

Sleep slowly pulls me in. And by the time I'm woken up, it's already past ten p.m. according to my watch.

I see Gwen in front of me, apparently she also decided to nap at some point. Her hair is all messed up and she's squinting at the door.

Someone knocked.

"I swear if it's Pav wanting to have a sleepover again..." she mumbles sleepily as she stands up and goes to open the door, rubbing her eyes.

I drop my head back on the pillow, staring out the window, I love to see the cars flying by in the night sky.

"Uhhh, Y/n?" I hear Gwen whispering right behind me "There's someone here to see you...?" Her voice is sort of excited and scared at the same time.

I groan as I turn around "Tell them five more minutes..."

But then I see who's at the door and all the sleepiness in my body leaves.

I literally jump out of the bed, shooting a questioning look at Gwen. She just shrugs, way more confused than I am.

Ohhh right, he wanted to talk...

I give Gwen a quick hug and tell her to keep sleeping, then I walk out into the hallway and close the door behind me.

I stand in front of him, trying to avoid eye contact, but that just makes me stare at his boobs, I don't know what's worse honestly.

He clears his throat and I finally look up at him. His face is unreadable.

"I think we should uhh- head to my lab" he starts.

I just woke up so I'm not about to argue with anyone. I just yawn and nod, already walking in that direction.

I hear him chuckle behind me and then he starts walking too.
