"Jules."

That was all the Greenie said. He didn't speak again. He just continued to look at me, study me.

I looked around at some of the boys, hoping one of them had an answer or knew what the actual fuck was going on.

They all looked as confused as I did.

"Everyone, back to work!" Alby eventually yelled. "Uh, Jules, Newt, stay where you are, though."

The four of us made our way to Alby's hut for some privacy.

"Okay. How do you know her name?" Alby asked the boy, eyeing him with a suspicious look.

"That's all I can remember. Jules," the Greenie answered. "Why is that all I know?"

"We're not sure," Alby replied, "but we'll figure it out."

"Can I go? This is freaking me the fuck out," I said, avoiding any and all eye contact with the boy.

"No. Stay," Alby commanded.

"But-"

"Stay." Alby's tone was a lot more stern and final this time.

"Where am I?" the Greenie asked.

Alby sighed. "I guess it's only fair to give you the tour first. We'll sort this all out later."

Relief washed over me when the boy left. I didn't like this situation. Not one bit. I had a horrible feeling about it, one that made my stomach twist and turn and do backflips.

"It'll be okay," Newt reassured, seeing I was stressed. "I'll get to the bottom of this."

"Thanks, Newt," I smiled, giving him a quick hug before going to Gally so I could work.

"Hey," Gally greeted. "You alright?"

"Yeah. I'm fine."

"You sure-"

"What work do I have to do today?" I asked, changing the topic.

"Um..." He looked around. "I dunno. None of us really have that much to do. Have a day off, I guess?"

I gave him a funny look. "Seriously? You're offering a day without working? Doesn't that, like, go against everything you stand for?"

"Do you want it or not?"

"Of course I do!"

An hour later, I was sitting by the lake, skipping stones into it. It was nice to have a full day to relax, especially since the Bonfire was later and I had a feeling it would be an interesting one.

Eventually, I started to become tired so I lay down on the ground and shut my eyes, drifting off to sleep to the sounds of crickets calmly chirping, wind gently rustling the trees and water softly trickling.

"Jules? Wake up," I heard someone say as they shook me awake.

"Why did you have to wake me up, Gally?" I questioned. "I was having a nice time and a much needed sleep since I haven't had a proper sleep in ages."

"Why not?"

"The floor isn't a great substitute for a bed." It was ridiculous I still wasn't allowed on the bed. He was treating me as if I was some untrained puppy.

"I guess so." He sat down beside me.

I moved into a sitting position too and rested my head on his shoulder, once again closing my eyes so I could go back to sleep.

"Do you have to do that?"

"Mhm," I mumbled. "You're comfy."

"Are you aware that you hate me?" he asked. I nodded. "And you're also aware you're laying on me?" I nodded again. "Right. Just checking."
