"Come on, Jules. It's okay, you can jump. I'll catch you," daddy said, opening up his arms. "And even if you do fall, it'll only be into water. You're not going to die or anything."

"Haha, Jules is a scaredy-cat!" Adam teased. "How can you be four and scared of some water?" With that, he canon-balled into the water, splashing everyone.

With a deep breath, I followed him and surfaced, laughing and giggling and smiling. "Again! Again!" I insisted. This time, Adam, mommy, daddy and I all went in together.

"Ugh, Adam. Wait up!" I called, trying to chase him through the meadow but he was a lot faster than me and it always annoyed me, especially when he showed off about it.

He tripped, fell, and face-planted the grass, causing me to burst into a fit of laughter until I, too, fell and went barrelling down the hill.

Exhausted since we had been out all day and the sun seemed to getting hotter and hotter all the time, we collapsed against each other in a messy heap.

"Adam, Jules!" mommy called from our house. "Dinner's ready!"

"I'll race you back," Adam challenged with a smirk on his face since he already knew he was going to win.

I, however, had a plan. "Oh, you're on." The second he started running, I stuck my leg out so he lost his footing and gave me an opportunity to overtake him. I sprinted all the way back home and emerged victorious.

I walked through school, talking with my friends about the new doll daddy bought me when he took me shopping to treat me as Adam was out with mommy.

"Yeah, it's got long blonde hair and a super cute pink princess dress and-" I cut myself off when I saw Adam; he looked like someone had beat him up. "I'll be right back," I told my friends, matching to my twin.

"Jules, hey," he greeted, trying to act as if he didn't just get used as a human punching bag. "What's up?"

"What's up with your face?" I shot back.

"Uh-"

"Who did this to you? No one hurts my brother like that and gets away with it," I scowled.

"Darren and his mates," he mumbled. "I wanted to play football with them but they said no so I started playing anyway and accidentally stopped them scoring."

"Stay here," I warned as I stormed off in search of Darren. He was three years older than us. He didn't need to pick on us like that. It was lame. "Oi!" I shouted when I had found the boy in question.

"Aw, look. It's little Juliette, here to avenge her brother because he's too pathetic to do it himself. Please, what's a girl going to d-" I kicked him as hard as I could in the balls.

"Leave him alone or else," I threatened, looking him dead in the eye.

"Or else what?" one of his friends challenged.

I sighed and prepared to fight them all.

"Kids, we have some exciting news," mommy said. "Your daddy has a new job."

I giggled excitedly. "What is it? What is it? What is it?"

Daddy looked nervous. "So, you know that the sun is being a bit naughty and getting too warm?" I nodded. "And you know some people are getting sick and we don't know why?"
