Thomas kept yelling for Minho which made all the kids, including me, start rattling their chains and shouting for help to grab his attention.

Shot were getting fired. Oh no. What if one of them got hit?

Suddenly, our train carriage was harshly lifted off the ground and everyone began cheering and celebrating; we were free.

It was a long journey to wherever we were going, but a huge wave of relief crashed over me when we landed on the ground and I heard someone cutting the door open. In walked faces I never thought I'd see again and I practically cried because of how happy I was to see them again after all this time.

"Jules!" Newt exclaimed as he rushed over to me. "Are you okay? You look like you've been to hell and back."

"I'm alright," I reassured with a smile.

"He's not here," Thomas said and I instantly knew he was talking about Minho; it wasn't right. Minho deserved to be here, to be free. He should have been able to escape WCKD too.

Once our chains were removed, we were gathered on some sort of dock so Vince could talk to us.

"Alright, listen up," Vince said, catching our attention. "I know you've all been through hell. I wish I could say your troubles are over. But we're not through this yet. WCKD's still out there.
They're not giving up. Because you've got something they want."

My heart sunk at that. Obviously I knew that, but it still hurt to hear it spoken out loud as it made it so much more real and scary.

"They took you because you're immune to a plague that's wiping out the human race, and they think you're worth sacrificing to find a Cure.
Well, I don't. So in two days, when we get this tug of rust sea worthy," he continued, pointing to a boat, "we're getting the hell out of here. We're gonna take you to a place where WCKD will never find you. A place you can start over. A place you can call home. Are you with me?"

We all cheered and clapped.

I got up and found Alyssa, who had also been rescued.

"Hey," I greeted. "You okay? It seems like you're trying to find someone."

"Um, yeah, I'm fine. I just... Is Adam here?" she asked. "I need to know that he's alright."

I furrowed my eyebrows. "What? Why? You don't even know him so why do you care?"

She bit her lip, mentally debating whether to tell me or not. Eventually, she sighed and spoke. "I was given a couple memories. Before the Maze, I was with Adam, who's your twin if you haven't figured that out yet. That's all I know about my past life but-"

"But you remember enough about your relationship for you to like him again?"

"Yeah," she admitted. "I don't know why WCKD let me remember that. Maybe it was so the simulations were worse for me? Because if I remembered him, I had someone that I couldn't lose?"

"I guess so. In all honesty, my simulations were all about Gally." That wasn't entirely true. I had other ones, but she couldn't know. After everyone finding out that Teresa had her memories restored which resulted in her betrayal, I couldn't risk letting them know I remembered things too. They would never trust me.

"Who's Gally?"

"He was my boyfriend."

"There, that's it." Thomas said as he placed a map down in front of Vince. "It's a few hundred miles. Based on railways, everything that Aris told us, that's gotta be where they're headed. That's where they're taking Minho. We take everyone who can fight. Follow the roads where we can. We can make it back within a week." He seemed very confident about this plan.
