Song: In The Stars by Benson Boone
Chapter Forty-five: The way you're staring at me is giving me the collywobbles
"I am so sorry."
I was sitting in the booth of a restaurant when this boy slipped and fell. His smoothie poured over my boots.
"Please, don't be miffed. I have a friend who is minted and can fix it. He is not exactly my friend. He is popular and I am not, but we have a similar friend. So that makes me his friend. I'm sure he'll pay for it." He ranted. "I hope." He muttered, probably not expecting me to hear him.
Huh.
"I'm such a wazzock." The boy groaned as he facepalmed himself.
I stared at him for a while for two reasons. One, I didn't understand a word he was saying. Two, I think I've seen him somewhere.
He shrunk back. "The way you're staring at me is giving me the collywobbles."
"I highly doubt I'm intimidating."
He sat down in front of me. "I don't know. I just moved to America this year, and I've seen very unpleasant and mean people. No offense."
"None taken." I stared at him some more. "You look familiar, do I know you from somewhere?"
He stared at me. "I don't think so, but you sure do look like someone I know. Just a little bit older."
"I see. Maybe if you told me your name, I'd figure it out."
"Harry."
Harry. Harry? Harry! Where have I heard that name before? Wait a minute.
"Where did you move from?"
"England."
The British accent. The friend and the similar friend stuff. Probably Rev and Sam. The moving to America this year thing.
I snapped my fingers. "Harry Buckingham."
He creased his brows. "How do you-? The only person that calls me that is-." He looked up at me. "You're related to Reveka, aren't you?"
I knew it.
"She's my sister."
"Very understandable. My name is Harry Bellingham, not Buckingham. She doesn't seem to understand."
"Sorry Buck, you know my sister is difficult."
He raised a brow. "Did you just call me Buck?"
"Yes. Until your minted popular friend who is not actually your friend because you're unpopular, but share a similar friend with him, pays me." I repeated his previous words.
He blinked. "About that..." He trailed off.
I gasped. "Is he not minted?"
He just laughed at my impersonation of his accent. "You're mocking me, aren't you?"
"You're mocking me, aren't you?" I mimicked.
He just rolled his eyes. "I see the resemblance clearly."
I touched my heart. "Why, thank you. I'll be sure to pass the message along."
He chuckled then looked down. "I'm really sorry about your shoes."
"It's okay. I'll just use some paper towels. I'm done eating anyway."
He nodded.
"Char!" I heard Xander call my name. I turned around to see him rushing across to me.
