Chapter Forty-seven: Pathetic fruit-named girl

"I want to see it."

It was Tuesday and we were driving home from Zane's practice when he demanded to see CeCe's blog. When we had walked into school together, everyone was staring at us. They were probably confused that we were back together from what they had read on CeCe's blog. They should stop reading that gossip site and focus on their books, it's less toxic.

When was the last time you read a school book?

We're not talking about me.

"I'm coming."

I opened my phone and went to her blog. It was in my frequent tabs because I kept checking for more. I'd been thinking, Serena was probably trying to tell me the truth when she wanted to talk to me. That was sweet and all, but I still don't like her.

I wanted to ask Zane if he was still friends with her, but I wasn't sure I was ready for that answer. Plus he had reassured me, there was nothing to be worried about and this time I really believed him. So if they were friends again, I wouldn't care. I'd just ponder about his taste in friends.

Zane had parked in front of his house before I gave him the phone.

"She's only written two blog entries about us, but there are new pictures." Just pictures of Serena and I talking in front of my house.

I waited in silence and patience as Zane read through the first entry. His eyes became angry as he turned to me. "She has no right."

"I said the same thing, but Xander, knowing more about rights and stuff due to his parents being lawyers, explained she has all rights. She has right to speech and expression."

"But this is your private life. You didn't ask for any of this. That's the difference between you and Serena. Serena is a professional model. There are bound to be things like this. She chose that. This is just wrong and rude."

"There's nothing to be done about it."

"I can press charges."

"For what? For writing blog entries?"

"No. For following me. That's not okay at all."

"Let's just forget about it. What's done is done." I tried to collect my phone from him, but he held his hand back.

"I haven't read the second one."

"That's not necessary." I don't think I want him reading about how I might be cheating on him.

"I want to read it."

I rested my back on my seat and picked at my fingernails, waiting for him to be done. I didn't look at his face once. I only knew he was done when I heard a low growl coming out of him.

That could just be from the sight of Jaxon.

"Why is Jaxon in this picture?"

Yup, it was.

"You see, the thing is, I may have, kind of, run into him last week."

"Why did you not tell me?"

"Because you'd get mad. I'm not exactly sure who you'd have been mad at, but-"

He cut me off. "I am mad. That psychopath was within 5 feet of you, and you did nothing?"

"It was daytime. What was I supposed to do? Run?"

"Uh yeah." He deadpanned.

"Look Zane, I'm fine. See." I sent him a smile he didn't look like he was ready to return.
