Meena asked Navashark.
"Well Meena. Of cour- wait." The question dawned on Navashark.
"Do they..?" He wondered.
"That's why I'm asking you!" Meena replied.
Navashark stayed silent.
"If a turtle doesn't have a shell, is the turtle homeless or naked?"
"Both, I think..?"
"How would we ever know if a word was misspelled in the dictionary?"
"I... guess we wouldn't??"
"Do fish ever get thirsty?"
"Meena it's too early for this."
Koonboat came downstairs, rubbing his eyes.
"Hey Koon!" Meena called him.
"Yea?"
"Do mermaids lay eggs like fish or give birth like humans."
Koon stopped mid-step.
"What."
"Do mermaids lay eggs like fish or give birth like humans?" She repeated.
"Wait wait wait." Navashark spoke up.
"Where would the baby mermaids like, come out?" Navashark questioned, trying to keep a straight face.
The entire room was silent, trying to hold their laughter.
"Do fish even have that?" Koon asked.
"Of course they do! How else do they reproduce?" Meena told him.
"I thought it came out of their mouth."
"WHAT?!" Navashark burst out laughing.
"HOW??"
"I- I've never really seen the other hole they had, s-so I assumed it wasn't there and they- they just-"
"SO YOU THOUGHT THEY SPEWED OUT BABIES?!" Meena threw her head back and wheezed.
"I DIDN'T REALLY THINK ABOUT IT UNTIL NOW!!" Koonboat yelled.
They laughed for a good 5 minutes straight.
"Still regarding the mermaid question, how on earth would pregnant mermaids like, swim? Especially if they had twins or triplets do they not swim and just lay around all day?" Navashark added.
"Why would they lay around all day?" Meena asked him.
"I don't know, is it not like heavily pregnant regular women not being able to carry heavy stuff or something? Or how the extra baby weight would weigh them down." Navashark reasoned, biting his lip.
"Water pressure might kill the children if the mermaid moves too much." Koonboat speculated.
"What do you mean by that??" Meena started laughing all over again.
"I should really shut up."
"GUYS."
Mermutany barged through her bedroom door with dark circles under her eyes.
"IT'S FOUR IN THE MORNING. GO TO BED."
"WAIT FIVE MORE MINUTES!!" Koon yelled.
"AFTER YOU ANSWER THIS ONE QUESTION!! PLEAAAASE!!" Meena pleaded.
