ALSO THERE WILL BE PROCEDURES OF LIKE EYE TREATMENT STUFF THAT AREN'T 100% FACT BUT WE SHALL MAKE FACT FOR THE SAKE OF THIS STORY AND MY SANITY BECAUSE NO YOU CAN'T ACTUALLY GO BLIND BY A BRIEF EMPRESS OF LIGHT ENCOUNTER.
Empress Of Light has awoken!
Jack shrieked as that dreadful butterfly woman rose into the air, a blank stare in her eyes.
"Jack what did you- oh my god." Meena squinted her eyes trying to look up at it.
"Is she- AGH!"
A glowing laser beam seemingly shot from the heavens and landed inches away from Meena.
"WHAT ARE YOU BOTH DOING?! RUN!" someone screamed in the distance.
And run they both did, Meena grabbing Jack's arm and legging it.
"Do you..." she panted, "know anything about this... empress?"
"I..." Jack looked behind him trying to remember.
She was only a few feet away from them, screeching like a banshee and using all her possible attacks.
A flash of white.
Another banshee scream.
And then the world turned black.
* * *
"Urgh...." Jack felt himself waking up.
"Damn the Moon Lord, you're awake, you had my hopes up for a moment." a voice, though he was certain that was Mermutany based on how happy they were to see him awake.
"Gee, thanks." Jack tried opening his eyes.
"Can you turn the lights on? Can't see a thing."
"The lights are already on you imbecile."
"But I- I can't." Jack tried opening his eyes again.
They were already open.
He couldn't see a thing.
"Am- am I blind?"
"What do you mean by-"
"Mermutany. I'm blind. I- I can't see." Jack hated how his voice cracked.
Silence from her end.
"A- are you still there?" Jack was beginning to tear up.
"Yeah."
"I-I'm blind." Jack repeated.
"What do I do?"
More silence.
"Mermutany p- please respond I don't- I don't know if you're-"
"I'm there." Jack felt a hand on his arm.
"It's going to be fine. I'll call the nurse, she just left a couple minutes ago to get something." Mermutany's demeanour changed completely and her voice sounded much softer than it did a few seconds ago.
"It's going to be fine." she repeated.
Jack started crying.
"Hey hey hey, Copper, don't worry! It's all going to be fine! You won't be blind permanently! Please don't cry!"
Jack tried to control himself but that just made him sob harder.
"I'm sorry- I- I really am-" he burst into tears again.
