"Can We Keep It?"

"GUYS, GUYS, GUYS, LOOK WHAT I GOT." Jack barged into the main room.

Navashark looked up at him from his book, interest piqued. "What is it?"

Jack brought out a black, one-eyed, bird thing from god-knows-where and showed it off.

Koonboat spat out his ONG.

Navashark's eyes widened, "Jack what on earth is-" 

"The F### is THAT?!" Mermutany yelled, coming downstairs with Meena in tow.

"She's called a Teenbird!" Jack replied confidently.

"Aww! She looks cute!" Meena gushed over it. "Where did you find her?"

"From this other game, called Don't Starve Together, me and Koonboat played it with these other two guys, and then apparently these things are kind of hostile, but this one didn't do anything so they thought it was just a glitch or something!"

Koonboat looked like he wanted to sink into the floor when his name was mentioned.

"Wait, wait, wait," Navashark interrupted.

"You brought something from a different game, that could be hostile, and thought it would be a good idea to bring it here?" he summarised. 

"I was wondering why she looked so different! She looks really... sketchy? Is that the word?" Meena walked over to Jack and stroked it gently with her finger. "Yeah she doesn't look like anything from Terraria how did you bring her here?" 

"Well..." Jack started.

"That's not important, what is though, is that you need that thing out." Mermutany dragged Meena back.

"What? Why?" Jack and Meena said in unison.

"That monstrosity in your hands might not be hurting you, but it very well can hurt us." She motioned around the room at the word 'us'. 

"And I don't know nor care how you brought that thing there, but it was probably illegal and that thing is probably buggy and might just interfere with the games' code and break-" On queue, the Teenbird decided it didn't like Mermutany and pounced on her hair, climbing up it and crawling all over her, it's sharp claws cutting her skin and ripping her hoodie. She stumbled herself right into a conveniently placed bookshelf and as the books fell the Teenbird ran back into Jack's arms and blinked innocently.

The room was deathly silent.

Navashark tried to muffle his laughter and Meena had a hand over her mouth to cover her smile. Jack looked at Koonboat, who's facial expression was screaming, 'You messed up big time'.

Navashark couldn't hold it in any longer; he burst out laughing, and it was infectious, soon everyone was laughing, Jack ruffling the Teenbird's feathers.

Mermutany finally got up, and she surprisingly didn't look angry, rather she looked more tired and drained.

"So the Tail-bird thingy is picking favourites, I see." she grumbled, trying to hide her rage.

"Just keep it away from me, I have work to do." She walked outside, her outlined, sketchy hair following behind her.

Wait.

Koonboat brushed it off as the books ruffling her hair a bit and refocused her attention to Meena cradling the bird in her arms and gushing over it.

"She looks rad! Have you thought of a name for her?" The Zoologist asked, eyeing the Teenbird perched on her head.

"That's why I came to you, I don't really know what to name her, and also need to buy some seeds for her, I was hoping you knew!" Jack told her.
