"Do you see the lanterns? Now that you've saved our world, there are regular celebrations of your victory. Always such a beautiful sight!"

Jack looked at the Guide as he spoke, confused for a second, before Koonboat averted Jack's head so he was looking at the sky. He could hear Meena and Navashark gasp and display noises of awe.

Lanterns, floating down from the night sky delicately, accompanying the stars in a bright, beautiful display of lights. Jack couldn't take his eyes away as a small smile infected his face.

Meena was holding Navashark, as the battle they had mere minutes before had made him weak and in need of assistance, but she completely forgot about him as she watched a lantern float towards her, and she reached for it, dropping Nava. He grunted in disapproval as Meena's eyes widened and she apologised, helping him back up. Koonboat chuckled at the sight, stealing Meena's lantern.

Jack on the other hand, had walked away not too far off, sitting himself down under a tree, watching the lanterns fall, one slowly into his hands. He still had that small smile on his face and hadn't said anything at all since the lanterns began falling.

Eventually, he noticed Navashark sitting next to him, also admiring the night sky.

"How'd you manage to get here without Meena's help? Crawl?" Jack teased, looking at him with a smirk on his face. Navashark pulled a face at him.

"I'm not that injured, just my leg. I only relied on her because I was tired." He replied, chuckling.

Jack laughed along and sighed, facing the sky again. Most of the NPC's had come out of their homes to watch, and Meena and Koonboat were fighting over one lantern. Navashark chuckled at the sight.

"The lanterns never get old, eh Jack?" Navashark nudged him, smirking.

Jack shook his head, his smile growing.

"Not at all, Nava, not at all."

Author's Note: Happy new year! (If you are reading this on the day I publish this)

I hope 2024 is promising for you!

This is one of my shortest works on here because honestly my SvT hyperfixation has been fading for the past couple months (as if it wasn't increasingly obvious)

anyways farewell!
