Wednesday walked into her dorm room briskly after a nice, long trip to the school library. She had been looking for information on the monster, and unfortunately turned up with nothing. After about 3 hours, she decided that was enough searching and had gone back to her room.
Enid was already there, laying in bed. Wednesday assumed she was asleep, which was strange for Enid, until a quiet sniffle came from her side of the room. Wednesday paused. Was she crying? Was she still beat up over Ajax setting her up just last night? Wednesday tapped the desk, and Thing appeared in a moment. "Check on her." Wednesday mouthed. Thing tapped out the equivalent to an eye roll, then hopped off the desk to go check on Wednesday's roommate.
Thing came back a moment later and shrugged. Wednesday sighed. She was beginning to resent the silence that was enveloping the room. For some reason, she didn't have the will to type without Enid blasting pop music or blabbing on about the latest gossip in her chemistry class. And so, Wednesday supposed it was up to her to see what was really going on with the werewolf.
She stood and walked over to the center of their room, pausing where the light from the rainbow stained glass hit the floor. "Sinclair." She called. Enid lifted her head. She looked awful. Her eyes were red, and her hair was a complete mess. Wednesday hesitated before asking her next question. "Are you okay?"
Enid stared for a moment, surprised Wednesday was asking. "Oh um, yeah it's just that, the other night-" she paused. Wednesday stood watching her, confused. Then Enid sneezed loudly, blessed herself, and continued. "It was really cold and I wasn't really wearing the right pants for that kind of weather, so I think I got a little cold. 'S not a big deal." She sneezed again. "Bless you." Wednesday said.
Enid thanked her and grabbed the box of tissues on her nightstand. "I can't believe you were so careless." Wednesday snapped. Enid looked at her. "Sorry?" She said, frowning. "And what's worse is that Ajax couldn't even have been bothered to show up." Wednesday continued. "I should nail gun him like I said I would, right now. You shouldn't be here, sick and heartbroken, while he's out there doing whatever he wants."
Enid looked beyond surprised. "Thank you Wednesday, but please-" Wednesday put up a hand to stop her. "You're much better than him anyway." She decided. "You deserve someone who will actually show up to your dates, and bring an extra jacket in case you get cold." Enid sneezed. "Bless you. And didn't you say that while you two were at Uriah's Heap he was avoiding your hints like the plague? Really, if he didn't want to go out with you he could have just said so."
"Wednesday!" Enid raised her voice and Wednesday stopped. "Really, it's okay. It isn't Ajax's fault I got sick." She said earnestly. Wednesday huffed and marched over to Enid's side of the room. She moved a few stuffed animals on the bed and sat down at the edge of the bed. "Fine. I won't torture him with snapping turtles." She said. Enid smiled. "Thanks, I think." She said, tossing one of her tissues.

For the next few days, Wednesday took a break from focusing on the monster and instead turned her attention to her sick roommate. She picked up some honey from Eugene and made lemon and honey tea. She didn't allow anyone to see her, even though Yoko and a few others came to check up on her multiple times. "Enid isn't seeing anyone right now, you can see her when she feels better."
Yoko sighed and handed her a card to give to Enid. "Okay, tell her I said to get well soon I guess." She said before walking away. Wednesday walked back to Enid's bed, where she was watching a movie on her laptop. "Who was it?" Enid asked, pausing the movie. "Yoko. She said get well soon." Wednesday handed her the card and Enid sliced it open. "Aw, that's sweet of her." She said, placing the card on her nightstand."Do you need anything?" Wednesday asked. "I'm going to start writing soon, and you know I don't like to be bothered, so let me know now." Enid giggled. "You're such a good caretaker." She said, holding out a hand for Wednesday to take. Wednesday didn't reply, instead she looked away to hide the tiny smile tugging at her lips. "Could you get me some water?" Enid asked, pulling her hand back.
Wednesday nodded and stood to get her the water. When she came back with the glass however, Enid was fast asleep. Her movie was still playing in her lap, and she was snoring softly. Wednesday put the glass on the nightstand and closed the laptop, then she moved it off Enid's lap to make her a little more comfortable. Wednesday looked down at her sleeping roommate. Even when she was sick, she looked pretty. Wednesday dismissed this thought as soon as she realized it had come about.
She emptied Enid's trash can and put a new bag in the now empty bin, then she fixed Enid's covers and went back to her side of the room. She could barely focus on her novel while she typed. Thing tapped the desk. "Not a word." Wednesday grumbled, glancing back at Enid.

The next day, Enid was feeling much better, and the first thing she did when she woke up was hug Wednesday. Well, she tried to. Wednesday stepped away, dodging the hug. Enid had pouted, but ultimately accepted that she wouldn't be getting a hug from Wednesday. At least, not anytime soon. "Thank you Wednesday." Enid offered instead. "I owe you one."
