Wednesday misses Enid.
of course she wouldn't admit it out loud. But she did miss her, dearly. Every time she sees something colorful while walking in the city, she thinks of Enid. Every time she goes close to a clothing store and hears annoying pop sounds linger in her ears.
She thinks of Enid.
Wednesday wishes she could get rid of this feeling and go on with her life. But ever since the second week of her being in her mansion, she's missed Enid everyday.
One thing she found was very comforting was the snood that Enid gave her. Every time she felt the feeling of missing Enid, she would grab the snood and put it on. Feeling as though Enid was wearing it at the same exact time. Sometimes she would come out of her room with it on. Her parents questioned her one time, Wednesday just said that she was cold.
Sometimes she would feel lonely, too. She never felt lonely before coming to Nevermore. But I guess the mark that Enid left on her was indelible. When she felt lonely, she would take the snood and..sleep with it. She felt pathetic. She would try to not give in to her needs. But her needs always won and she found herself hugging the snood against her chest.
Ever since she got the phone and told her parents over the crystal ball, her parents thought that Pugsley could have one. But what Wednesday didn't know that Pugsley had Enid's phone number. Wednesday didn't know how and why. And how Wednesday found out wasn't how she wanted to, at least she didn't want to find out when she was wearing something that was dear to her.
Wednesday was going downstairs at about 8AM, finally got ready and was wearing leggings and a jacket. She was already feeling the feeling of missing Enid, so she decided she could wear the snood. Wednesday got it from the side of her bed and wore it.
She could hear Pugsely's laugh even from the hallway. Probably laughing at some foolish joke that her parents said.
She went to where she heard the laughing. And was met with a blonde and her brother smiling at each other.
And the blonde was Enid.
Wednesday stood there, in just pure shock. How did Enid get here? She didn't even have her number?!
Her thoughts were cut off with a squeal and her face being smushed in Enid's hair.
"I missed you so, so much, Wednesday!!" Enid squealed, hugging Wednesday even more. Wednesday was still in shock, but still found something in her. That something was a brain cell that triggered her to hug Enid back.
Wednesday closed her eyes and just stood there for what felt like a minute. Enid broke the hug soon after but still held Wednesday arms and looked deep in her eyes with a soft and comforting smile. This almost made Wednesday smile too. But bit the inside of her cheek to refrain her from doing so.
"H-how did you even get here?" Wednesday asked, overwhelmed with shock and confusion.
"Oh, Pugsley invited me!" Wednesday looked at Pugsley and he was just smiling sheepishly at her. Wednesday looked back at Enid.
"How? Pugsley didn't travel to San Fransisco, at least, I don't think so." Wednesday said. Mostly focusing on Enid's hands on Wednesday arms, warm to the touch.
"He texted me, silly!" Then it hit, Pugsley probably asked for Enid's phone number when he was talking to her bubbly roommate.
"Oh." that was all that Wednesday could muster up to say. One, she felt pent up with rage that Pugsley invited Enid over, without even telling her! But she was also filled with this warmth. She no longer felt the loneliness. All because Enid was here. She didn't even know that her hand was reaching up to touch Enid's hand.
"Wednesday?" Wednesday snapped out of it and snatched her hand back and put it behind her. Her face was red and she had her eyes glued to the floor. She was very embarrassed, why did Enid only do this to her? It just..wasn't fair.
Wednesday started to fiddle with her hands behind her back and felt sweat down her forehead. How nervous was she?
"Oh, Wednesday. You missed me that much?" Enid cooed. Wednesday head snapped up and her face was so red, she couldn't even blame that it was because she was just always that red because of her pale skin! Curse everything!
"H-huh?!" Wednesday said, her hands no longer behind her back and now holding her arms. Enid had this huge smile and had pink tin her face.
"Your wearing your snood." Enid said softly, taking Wednesday hand and holding it, she now understood why she no longer felt the loneliness that came to her often. It wasn't because she wasn't in her room that she was mostly in all day.
Enid was her snood.
