[ISABELLE looks at both buttons, then presses the left button, which shines a green light over JACOB and a red light over CHIEF REEVES]
DETECTIVE CRAWFORD- Would you like to tell me why you chose to save Jacob?
ISABELLE- Chief Reeves was right. You can only have one best friend in your lifetime, and I would like to keep the one I have.
[DETECTIVE CRAWFORD smiles and presses the button, sending a bullet through CHIEF REEVES' chest. 2 bridges form so she and JACOB can go see him and she runs to him. She holds CHIEF REEVES in her arms, crying]
ISABELLE- I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry!
CHIEF REEVES- [coughs] No, it's alright.
ISABELLE- I'm so sorry Chief Reeves!
CHIEF REEVES- Owen.
ISABELLE- [sniff] What?
CHIEF REEVES- My name is Owen, you can use it.
ISABELLE- [smiles and choking on her words] I prefer to call you my dad.
CHIEF REEVES- [smiles] And I'd prefer to call you my daughter...
[CHIEF REEVES' eyes slowly close and his body becomes limp and lifeless in ISABELLE's arms. She hugs him tightly and cries while JACOB is beside her]
DETECTIVE CRAWFORD- Alright you said your goodbyes, now let him go.
[ISABELLE slowly puts CHIEF REEVES' lifeless body on the ground]
DETECTIVE CRAWFORD- Now, come to me.
JACOB- [holding onto ISABELLE] You're not taking her!
[DETECTIVE CRAWFORD knocks JACOB down by CHIEF REEVES' body and grabs ISABELLE by the wrist and drags her across the bridge]
ISABELLE- Let me go!
DETECTIVE CRAWFORD- We had a deal! Now you're going to stay with me forever--
[a shot was heard from a distance and DETECTIVE CRAWFORD stops in his tracks. ISABELLE looks back and sees JACOB holding CHIEF REEVES' gun in his hand. DETECTIVE CRAWFORD lets go of ISABELLE and falls to the ground. JACOB runs to ISABELLE and hugs her tightly]
JACOB- [sobbing] I thought I was gonna lose you!
ISABELLE- [also crying] I'm ok! We can go home!
[police burst through the door and have their guns out, then they see CHIEF REEVES' lifeless body on the platform and the room goes quiet. JACOB takes his gun and puts it back in CHIEF REEVES' pocket and ISABELLE follows behind him]
ISABELLE- It was an honor working with you Owen. You were an amazing father figure that I never had and wish I could've had longer.
[a few officers walk up and wrap his body in cloth and take him away while the scene fades on ISABELLE and JACOB crying in each other's arms]
[time passes to the next day and she has to leave. ISABELLE and JACOB are both at the airport with bags in ISABELLE's hands]
JACOB- I kinda wish that you told me that you were only staying here for a week, I would've done more things with you!
ISABELLE- I know, and I'm sorry.
JACOB- You gotta tell me next time bestie.
ISABELLE- [laughs] You're so stupid.
[ISABELLE checks the time]
ISABELLE- Crap, I gotta go now.
JACOB- Alright... I'm gonna miss you!
ISABELLE- I know, but I'll be back! I did grow up here after all.
[ISABELLE gives JACOB a big hug and walks off. She stops and lets go of her suitcase and runs back to JACOB and gives him a kiss]
JACOB- [eyes wide and he smiles really big] YOU JUST KISSED ME!
ISABELLE- I love you too, you dork.
JACOB- [confused] How did you know?!
ISABELLE- I wasn't sleeping.
JACOB- [dramatically gasps and smiles] You told me you were asleep! You little liar!
ISABELLE- Ok I seriously have to go now.
JACOB- Can I at least have one more kiss?
ISABELLE- [chuckles] I don't see why not.
[ISABELLE gives JACOB another kiss, then she grabs her suitcase and goes up the escalators to get to her flight. ISABELLE waves to JACOB before she leaves and JACOB waves back. The camera is on the left side of him while he looks up at her]
JACOB- I'm gonna marry that girl...
[the scene fades and plays the credits]
