Rise of the Serpentine 🐍 Episode 2: Home

Ah yes morning. Mornings are so peaceful with the peaceful birds chirping in the morning air and with barely anyone that is perfect for early walks.

"Uggggg." I let out while face planting my face into a pillow. I was obviously not a morning person. I mean who would your all tired and your brain is barely working. "(Y/N)! It is time for the store to open." Mystake yelled from the stairs. "Yeah yeah, I'm up." I replied back while I begrudgingly got out of my comfy bed. "Your old apron is in the closet." Mystake shouted from the stairs. "Thanks Aunt M." I replied opening my closet and found my old apron. It still had my old embroidery on it.

I learned a lot of my hobbies with the help of Aunt Mystake, since she encouraged me to do anything that caught my interest. No matter how bad I was at the beginning Mystake kept encouraging me. I'm pretty sure she still has kept a few of my old art works and other stuff I've made round the store. She also helped me raise some money for the supplies and much more.

"Let's get this over with." I said already feeling all my energy drained and it hasn't even been 5 minutes yet.

~Twelve Decades Later~

"Hey Mystake. Finished with the sorting and restocking the tea." I said walking to the front of the store. It was sometime in the afternoon after lunch when I finished helping Mystake. I was finally finished and to say I was dreading the walk up those stairs was an understatement. "Good. You ready to climb those stairs?" Mystake asked as she counted the money she'd received. "Hell no. You think anyone would be happy to climb a bunch of stairs?" I questioned putting my apron on the counter. "True. Anyway when you drop the box off come back before you take your leave." Mystake said. "You got it Aunt M. See ya later." I said picking the medium sized box up and heading out the door.

I started to walk towards those long ass stairs to climb them. Before I started the long climb I ran into the Postman who was also walking towards the stairs. "Hey! You delivering the mail? Know how many steps their are?" I asked as the Postman approached the same stairs as me. "Yeah, I've delivered the mail here before. Still can't get over the amount of steps it seems like there are an infinite number of them." the Postman replied. So the Postman and I started our journey up the stairs, while also holding a lovely conversation.

Finally we reached the top. I wasn't as winded but the Postman on the other hand was gasping for air. After helping the Postman up he rang the bell and from beyond the walls of the monastery I head the yell of, "Mail!" from three voices. Then the doors were opened. I was surprised to see that the people were actually the pajama people I saw awhile ago. The Postman then started to hand out their mail. "Let's see. A letter from Jay's parents. Kai has a fan letter. Oh, something from Cole's father." the Postman said, still a bit out of breath, as they each grabbed their own mail. "What, no package? I'm expecting something from Creatures, Beast, and Beyond." Cole, or the person wearing the Black pajama's, asked.

Cole soon got his package mentioning that someone named Rocky who's gonna love it. And the Postman left down the stairs. Jay asked the person in White pajamas, named Zane, 'bout why he got no mail. "Umm. Sorry for interrupting but I got a package from Mystake's Tea Shop." I said interrupting their conversation. "Oh my restock on my favorite tea." the old man said as he took the box and handed me the money for the tea and a tip. "Thanks, hope you enjoy the tea." I said walking down the stairs.

~After the long walk down~

Finally I've arrived back at the shop and it was late into the afternoon. "Ah glad your back and alive (Y/N)." Mystake said as she saw me walking into the shop. "Thanks glad to be alive." I said taking the stool and sitting on it. Mystake just chuckled and grabbed a box. "What's in the box?" I asked while looking at the box. "It's a gift, I saw it and knew you would find use for it." Mystake said pushing the box towards me. So I opened it and I was amazed at what I saw.
