Chapter 9

I took off running. I got to the bottom of the giant stairwell and heard his voice so I ran up the stairs as fast as I could. By then I heard a door close, and then I came to giant oak double doors.

I was about to burst the door open and tell him off but then I thought about what I was going to say. Something along the lines of "how could you do this to me" or "you're the worst best friend ever."

Before I could burst through the door Kade was standing in front of me with the look of utter shock on his face.

"What are you doing here? Who brought you here?" He asked all surprised.

"I have no idea why I'm here Kade. Some guy name Edwin came to my house and he brought me here. I heard your voice and I thought this was a prank but it obviously wasn't. At this point I just wanna go home."

"Well I'm so sorry you can't," said Edwin coming down the hall "Kade you put everyone in danger by telling her your secret. What's wrong with you man? You're a Omega. Get your shit together."

I'm not really sure what that means but it sounds important. I don't want Kade to get in trouble which always happens.

I should say something.

"Kade just knows me. He knows that I wouldn't leave him alone about his secret so I told him to tell me. He -"

"He knows our rule and he broke it. That's a crime here, but because of his rank it is just frowned upon." Edwin said.

I knew it was none of my business but I wondered what the penalty was. I don't know any of the rules of this place, and I didn't want to stick around long enough to learn them.

That reminded it that I had no idea how long I was staying at this house. I kinda just grabbed the essentials, considering there was a giant man watching my every move. Probably making sure I didn't pack any silver. (If that myth is even true.)

"Wait what rank? What's yours Kade?" I asked with my passionate nosey self.

Edwin looked at Kade then at me and decided to answer, "A rank is like where you stand in the pack like behind this door is the Alpha. I am the Beta, second in command. Your genius friend over here is our Omega, third in command."

"Wow that's amazing. Kade your important!" I said in my most sarcastic tone.

"I hate you so much." He said.

He must be having a serious moment.

We aren't really the serious type moment friends. Everything is always laughter and happiness. I mean of course we've had our conversations about deepest darkest secrets but once we had them that was it.

"So is the alpha going to come out and introduce himself or is he like to high and mighty for that?" I asked kind of offended he didn't come out to see me even though I have no idea who the alpha is.

The only things I have to go by is the previous movies books and fanfiction of werewolves to go by. From what I've read wolves have mates. People that were chosen for them by the Moon Goddess. Theres an Alpha, Beta, and Omega the three most important people in the pack. I also know that they transform naked and come back naked and humans aren't supposed to know. I think that's pretty much it.

"The alpha is currently busy at the moment. He will greet you when he is no longer busy." Edwin said.

Kade looked really worried, like he knew something I didn't know. Now that I think about Edwin was looking at me all funny too.

What's their problem?

"Is there a problem? Do I have something in my face? What's wrong?" I asked in a panic.

"Nothing. Nothing. I just noticed something weird. That's all." Kade said trying to comfort me.

"Jasmine, what is it your parents do again?" Edwin asked.

"Oh their missionaries. They go all over the place helping people." I answered.

Don't get me wrong. I'm really proud of my parents and what they chose to do. Its just sometimes I wish they would just stay home with me sometimes.

The look that Edwin was giving me was so weird. Like he was suspicious of me or something. I'm the one under a close watch in a giant house if werewolves.

Wow I must really be awesome.
