"Gosh, Sky is so annoying!", complained Anna. "I had to go to the office after school to get back my jacket, and Sky was there double checking the sheet making sure that no one else put their name on the ballot! Can you believe her!"
"I'm really sorry Anna", I say only half listening. Jack has been at school for three days, so I've gotten to know him a little better. Jack ensured that cause he wouldn't leave me alone. I was trying my best to work on my math homework, but I couldn't help thinking about school today. Lunch really.
(Earlier that day)
I walked into the cafeteria with Merida and we sat at our usual table waiting for Rapunzel.
Then we saw her walk in talking to Flynn and he was holding her hand and looked as if he was begging her for something. Then after she says something he smiles and walks away. Punzie comes toward us with a pleading look in her eye. Oh no.
"Hello my wonderful, understanding friends", said Punzie.
" What do yer want," asks Merida.
" Well, it's just that. Flynn was wondering if I could eat lunch with him, and then I told him I couldn't leave you guys, so he said you guys can come with! Doesn't that sound fun!"
No. No it didn't sound fun. Do you want to know why? I think you already guessed it. Jack was sitting with Flynn and Hiccup. Yay.
"No it doesn't sound fun", said Merida. Rapunzel gives us a pouty face. Why does she do that? Because it always seems to turn Merida.
" Please! You know I'll still talk to you, and also,", Punzie glances at their table and smiles," there is a special someone sitting over there."
Merida glares at her. " I have no idea what yer are talking about", she says through clenched teeth.
" Oh, I think you do. What about you Elsa?"
I honestly wanted to say she was crazy and no way was I going over there, but here sad eyes got to me. I mean her and Flynn haven't gotten any time together lately. She should at least have right now. " Fine. "
" Yay! Come on Mer. Two against one", Punzie said as she grabbed her hand and tried to pull her up. Merida gave up and stood and began to walk with us towards the table. I could tell she really didn't want to go, but she probably did it the same reason I did.
As we walk over to their table Flynn sees us and smiles ushering us forward. Jack and Hiccup notice as well, and Jack had a small smile on his lips. He does that a lot. Meanwhile, Hiccup looks automatically at Merida and then blushes and turns back to his food.
" Hello ladies. Nice of you to join us", Flynn says with a slight nod.
" Quite", Jack adds.
Punzie sits Merida on the left of Hiccup and she puts herself across from her next to Flynn. Guess what the only other seat available was at. Yup. I sat on Jack's right and began to eat my salad trying to avoid eye contact and a conversation, but Jack had other ideas.
"What are you eating", he questions. Even though it was obvious I decided to tell him.
" Salad."
"Ew. That's so bland. How could you eat that?", Jack asked with a look of distaste.
" Like this," I take a mouthful. " How could you eat those nasty chicken nuggets, that are probably not even chicken, and those gross watery mashed potatoes. "
" Like this," and then he takes a mouthful. I roll my eyes. He couldn't even think of his own comeback.
" You couldn't even think of your own comeback. You must love the words I choose to copy me", I say teasingly.
