Today the results were coming out for senior, junior, and sophmore class elections. I was in fact a little nervous, but not as much as I thought I'd be. I wasn't totally sure why but I was quite proud of it.

Anna on the other hand was disheveled by the thought of the outcome. She aggressively shoved her books and spirals into her backpack. "I will literally die if freaking Sky Price wins any position in junior class!"

I laughed as I spread butter on my toast. "I'm sure that won't happen."

"How do you know?!"

"I don't actually, I'm just trying to be supportive," I say shrugging. Anna dramatically exhales and I role my eyes. "Come on, eat something, we've got to get to school and if your eating I won't hear your whining," I said as I gave her a toast with butter too.

She huffed, grabbed the toast from me, and bit it roughly. We got into the car and began to head for school. Anna then got a call. "It's Rap," she put her on speaker, "Hey what's up?"

"Are you guys on your way to school," Rap asked quickly and sounding breathy. Anna and I exchanged a look, "Um yeah, why," I asked.

"Are the class results already out?! I thought they'd be announced at lunch!" Anna's eyes were bulging and her hands gripped the seat belt.

"No! It's not about that," Rap said with urgency. "It's Merida! I think she hinted that she's going to spill the tea about what her and Hiccup talked about last night!"

Anna and I exchanged wide-eyed expressions. "How did she hint? What did she really say," I question carefully.

Rap's impatient breath came through the phone and she answered sounding somewhat exasperated. "She texted me this morning that she was going to be at the water fountain outside the gym before class started, and that to meet her there!"

"But how do you know she wants to talk about Hiccup? Wouldn't she want to discuss that in a more private area?" Anna looked expectantly at the car phone.

Rap sighed, "Anna, how can you be a junior and not know? Nobody goes to that water fountain. It was broken for the longest time and then once they finally got around to fixing it, all that came out was warm water. Who drinks warm water?! Gross! Not to mention it broke only a few weeks later. Therefore making it an avoided fountain! It's a perfect place for classified discussions!"

I couldn't help but nod in agreement. Anna just shrugged. "Well we're almost there. We'll meet you at the fountain then."

We got to school not much later and parked. I got out, took my bag, locked the car, and then I glanced up. Jack had just parked not far from us and was getting out. The sun was still rising and was peaking just above the roof of the school. His white hair caught the yellow and orange hues, making it so bright and warm looking. His face was also covered in a smooth light, giving a perfect shadow to his sharp features.

He turned and saw me there, just looking at him, and gave me a wide smile. Eyes and teeth sparkled and shined strong. The crinkles at his eyes were easily noticeable. Everything about him just became too much; too light, too bright, too....I was scared to even think of the word that kept insisting to be thought.

I was shocked how I had become so hyper aware of him. His features and expressions and what all those could mean. It scared me to be honest, and it all happened so fast; these thoughts and feelings and acute observation skills. I was being ambushed by me and my crazy senses! How was that even possible?!

I tried and failed to muster a simple greeting, and yet, seeing him like that still made me feel comfortable enough to give him a eye-to-eye smile and small wave. How could I not have the ability to say anything to him, but still give a smile that felt like something truly genuine rather than just a mannerism?
