You walked through the streets back to your house. The sun was starting to sink into the horizon. The entire day, you had just sat around, thinking. What were you supposed to do? What would you tell Sasuke? How long until you would be back?
You'd gotten yourself into such a mess. Those damn elders. No matter how hard you suppressed it, there was still a part of you that was infuriated and wanted to rip their throats out. You sighed and smacked your head, then ran your fingers through your hair. Suddenly, you heard yelling. You dashed to where the noise was, then jumped onto a building and looked out into the street.
There was a boy with spiky yellow hair who was standing outside a stall. A store owner was screaming at him. Suddenly, he pushed the boy down into the dirt. A crowd of people surround the boy, looking at him in disgust.
Your eye twitched and you put your mask back on before jumping off of the roof. The eyes of the bystanders turned to you as you walked out into the street. You approached the store owner as he turned his back on the boy.
"Is there a problem?"
The owner turned around and glared at you. His gaze faltered for a second when he saw your anbu uniform and mask. He took a step away from you and kept glaring.
"Is there a problem?" He hissed. "Don't tell me you're going to protect that boy."
Your eye kept twitching. "What?" You walked closer to him. He tried to back away, but you grabbed his collar. "And what," you lowered your voice, "is wrong with him?" The man tried to free himself from your grasp. "I am so sick of you older generations," you hissed. "Always running your mouth and thinking you can get away with it just because you have seniority." You let go of his collar and he fell onto the ground. "You should watch yourself. Not everyone in this world has respect for their elders just because they're older."
"Is that a threat?" The man snapped, rubbing his throat.
You turned around and started to walk to the boy. "You would know if I was threatening you."
You walked to the boy and crouched down to his level. He was still sitting on the ground and was covered in dirt. His eyes narrowed a little at you. He looked scared.
You removed your anbu mask and smiled at him. "Hello, are you alright?"
His eyes softened and he grinned at you. "Yup, I'm totally fine!"
You extended a hand to him to help him up. When his hand grabbed yours, you froze. You felt an ominous chakra that had the urge to destroy everyone and anything. However, there was another chakra on top of it that felt like a warm ray of sunshine. You snapped back to reality and looked at the boy. Is he...
"Oh," you whispered to yourself.
The boy turned to you. "Huh, did you say something?"
"Hm? No, I didn't." You looked around at the crowd around you. They flinched when they saw your disgusted gaze. "The hell are you gawking at?" You said. The crowd quickly dispersed.
You looked back at the innocent boy. Sometimes, the people of this village disgusted you. So what if he has the Nine-Tails inside him? It's not like he's the one who attacked the village.
You tugged on the boy's hand. "Let's get you cleaned up."
He squinted. "Uh, where are we going?"
"To my house," you said.
He blinked, then shrugged. "Okay!"
"What's your name?" You asked.
"It's Naruto Uzumaki, believe it!"
