Severus and James continued to talk as they walked towards the courtyard. It was no longer filled with a bunch of students, but it wasn't completely empty.
"Now Harry, do you know how to have a snowball fight?" James said as he placed Harry down onto the snow and kneeled next to him.
"Of cowse! You taught me!" Harry said as he started jumping up and down. "I did? When did I do that?" James must've thought Harry was talking about in this timeline.
"He's talking about the future, in the future you apparently taught him how to snowball fight." Severus answered.
"That means I succeeded as a father." James smirked as he looked at Severus who was looking back at him.
Their little 'moment' was interrupted with Harry throwing a snowball at James. "Hey!" yelled James. It obviously didn't hurt, James just had to act like it did to make Harry amused, which definitely happened.
James started to roll up his own snowball before throwing it at Harry which caused him to topple over. Severus looked at Harry worried before he stood back up, giggling.
"Don't be too rough on Harry." Severus warned James before they both started to have a snowball fight.
Harry really was just like his father. Just as childish and playful as James was.

"Okay you two buffoons it's been twenty minutes. I think that's enough snowball fighting." Severus finally said after what felt like forever of them throwing snowballs at each other.
James stood up and picked up Harry whose face started to turn red from the cold nipping at his cheeks.
"Oh Harry, you look freezing!" Severus shrieked before casting a heating charm on all his clothes. Harry looked half asleep, probably tired from all the energy he used today.
"Harry looks tired. Do you let him nap during the day?" James asked as he took a look at Harry. "Of course I do! It seems right now is the time he wants to take a nap." Severus scowled.
"Come on, we can take him to sleep right now." Severus whispered as he noticed Harry fall asleep right in James's arms.
"How long do you think it will take? Until they figure out how to get Harry back to his original timeline." Asked James as they walked into the castle. "I don't know but I can see it on his face that he misses his actual home. It mustn't be fun for him to be living at a school. Well, living at a school that you're too young for." Severus frowned.
"Don't put that weight on your shoulders. It isn't your fault he's here right now." James said as he rubbed Severus's back which caused Severus to blush.
A few minutes later they came across the portrait to Severus and Harry's room. The lady in the portrait was now applying makeup on her face while looking into a small mirror. Severus muttered the password under his breath.
Severus stepped through the portrait hole, James behind him. "Merlin, this room is as big as my dorm. And that can fit four boys!" Said James who was looking all around the room in awe.
"I've noticed that, now would you give me Harry?" Severus asked. James placed Harry into Severus's arms before he opened the door to what seemed like a bedroom. Severus came out of the room just a few minutes later.
"Your life seems pretty boring with Harry." James smirked as he turned to Severus.
"Well unfortunately since we are still in school I can't do anything fun with him." Severus shrugged.
"Listen Severus, I never got to truly apologize for everything that happened today. Regulus was being a complete asshole towards you. And I do hope you know that I'd never date him."
James and Severus aren't dating. Why should Severus care if Regulus and James date? He shouldn't care if James wanted to date anyone, that wasn't his business.
"James, It doesn't matter to me who you date. That is none of my business." Severus whispered the last part.
"Alright then, so the next time someone asks me out I won't catch you crying?" James teased which earned him a slap on the cheek.
"What was that for! I didn't know you had such a temper." James yelled, blinking away his tear filled eyes. "I only have 'such a temper' when someone disrespects me." Severus crossed his arms.
"I guess being a mother does that to you." James murmured under his breath. "Hey! Why does everyone keep calling me a mother!" Severus rolled his eyes.
"Well I mean, out of the two of us you would be the maternal one!" James looked Severus up and down to prove his point.
"Wowwww, okay I think that's enough for you. I'll see you, wait, when is the next Hogsmeade weekend?" Asked Severus, He had so much going on lately that he just forgot about the simple things
"Next weekend!"
"Right, yes, I knew that! Goodbye James." James rolled his eyes as he walked out the portrait hole.
"Well then, I'll see you and Harry next weekend." Said James before lifting Severus's hand and kissing it.
Severus felt a blush creep up his face as James walked away. Oh my gosh, did James just kiss me? I mean kiss my hand! That was perfectly friendly. Right? Thought Severus before the lady in the portrait talked to him.
"Looks like someone likes you!" She giggled. "What? James does not like me." He scoffed to which the lady said. "Yea okay." Before she turned back to painting her nails.
Hi! Sorry for such a short chapter I wasn't sure what to write. But hopefully the next few chapters will be better. Hopefully!
