Chapter 15: Tell the World I'm Coming Home

Liam's POV
Two days of torture. Two days since I've woke up in this room that remains unchanged. Two days since my wedding was supposed to have taken place. I could tell we're still on this dreaded boat by how it's moving. I've only received water and little to nothing amount of food. Apparently they're not letting me starve to die but they're also planning to keep me alive for whatever they have planned. I could never plan for when that day will come.
The door opened revealing an unknown man wearing a hooded coat. "Are you Liam Payne?" the man whispered loud enough for me to hear. "I am, who are you?" I asked him. For all I know he could be death. The man pulled off his hood to reveal a light tan man with black hair on his head and face. "My name is Carlos, and if you ever wanna see Elizabeth again we must hurry" he said coming over to me grabbing the chains. "It's no use, I've already tried to break them" I told him but he just pulled out a shiny gold key and smirked. "Didn't try that did ya?" he then unlocked them and they fell to the ground with a thud.
I rubbed my wrists and stood up. "Thank you Carlos" the man nodded and patted my back. "Let's get you back to the Queen while there is still time" he told me and I nodded following him towards the door. "Wait, how are we planning to do this while there are people-" I stopped as I felt the boat shift unevenly. "What was that?" "Our way out" and then he opened the door running out. I stood there confused before chasing after him. We ducked and hid behind crates and I saw soldiers from the castle fighting with the guys of this ship. The ship shifted again as the soldiers shot cannons from their ship. This is not going to be good.
"Let's go! Move!" Carlos said and we ran again through the crowd of fighting people. I ducked and slid beneath swords and dodged punches until we reached the end of the ship. "Okay so how are we going to get across?" I asked looking between the two ships. "Well first we should try-Look out!" he yelled and before I could react I felt something sharp in my side. I yelled out in pain. "You're not going anywhere" the voice said and I recognized it as the man who has been torturing me these past couple of days. He pulled his knife out of me as I fell to the ground. I remember seeing Carlos jumping over me and fighting with the man with their swords. I felt myself getting lifting by guards as they carried me away. Last thing I saw Carlos stabbing the man in his chest before I blacked out....

I woke up a while later to see the Sun setting with its orange and yellowish colors in the sky. "I see Sleeping Beauty has awake from her beauty sleep" Carlos said from beside me. "What happened?" I asked trying to sit up but pain from my side stopped me. "You got stabbed and blacked out as they carried you onto the ship. I would recommend you take it steady so you don't bulge out the stitches" he said and I looked down. I had a white bandage just a little above my stomach which is probably covering the stitches. "You hungry?" Carlos asked handing out a sandwich slice. I took the sandwich from him and thanked him before taking a bite out of it.
"We should be reaching the castle soon" that made me perk up. I get to see my Beth and my family. Oh they must be worried sick. "It feels good to hear that" I smiled and chuckled. Carlos gave a small smile. "You're a very lucky guy to have stolen the heart of the Queen" he said and I shook my head. "We met when she was a princess and I didn't know it at the time but I grew to not care that she was of royalty and that she's just a girl I fell in love with" I explained and he nodded. "What about you? Any special lady in your life?" I asked him. He shook his head "I have nothing to offer a girl. Plus, nobody seems to like a dirty rum bug like me anyway" I heard sadness in his voice and it hurt me.
Before I could say anything I saw the castle come into view. A bridge of excitement ran through my body as I saw my family, the lads, and my beautiful fiancée standing on the docks waiting. The soldiers glided their way off as Carlos stayed behind to help me up. When we got off, I saw Beth meeting and thanking the soldiers as my family and the lads ran over to me. "Thank goodness you're okay" my mom was the first to hug me. Then came my dad and my two sisters. "Don't ever do that again to us" Ruth said hitting my arm playfully. Next came the lads who basically jumped me with hugs and I groaned from the pain. "Hey guys take it easy, in a bit of a pain" I told them and they nodded pulling away. "Liam?" I heard that sweet voice from behind me to see my beautiful Beth standing there with tears in her eyes. She hesitate running into my arms and start crying. I ignored the pain as the only thing that mattered to me right now was her in my arms.
"You're here, you're really here" she said pulling away and looking at me. I wiped the tears off her face "I'm here, and I wouldn't be here without the help of Carlos here" I said looking over at him. "Your majesty" he bowed at Beth but she just hugged him. "Thank you, for bringing him back home" she said as she pulled away. "If there is anything I can do for you, just ask" "I appreciate that your majesty" he bowed before looking back up to her. "Your majesty" I heard someone say from behind us. "Yes, Annabel?" Beth asked her. Carlos stepped forward in front of Annabel staring at her as she did the same. "Hi" he said nervously. "Hello" they could not stop staring at each other and something clicked in me.
"You wanted something Annabel?" Beth asked breaking the trance between the two. "Um, yes your majesty, uh dinner is um being served in the dining hall for all the guests" Annabel bowed. Carlos just stood there staring. "Would you like to freshen up for supper Carlos?" Beth asked him snapping him back to her gaze. "Um, that would be lovely, your majesty" "Very well, Annabel will you please show our honored guest to one of the guest rooms?" the girl nodded and turned around letting Carlos follow her inside the castle.
"Everyone else to the dining hall and we shall be with you all shortly" Beth announced and everyone nodded walking back inside. "You noticed how those two were looking at each other right?" I asked her and she nodded. "I did, they remind me of us when we first met" she said smiling wrapping her arms around my neck. I let mines rest on her waist "Oh really? Well how about I show you what we did on our second date?" I asked pulling her close to me letting our lips connect. The kiss was more than a kiss as our lips danced with each other in perfect sync. I will never get tired of this. We pulled away slowly but held each other close. "God I can't wait to marry you" Beth said staring in my eyes. I pecked her lips one last time and rested my forehead on hers.
