Liam's POV
I don't know what to think anymore. My mind is blur and going wild. Waking this morning I realized I was not in my room or in my own home. I was somewhere else which confused me but not enough to think about. Something moved beside me and I looked over to see auburn hair scattered over the pillow and brown eyes staring up with a smile. That smile that made me smile and feel better. Without a word, I bent over and pressed my lips upon that smile of hers. Memories of last night flowed through my mind as the kiss lingered and we pulled away.
"Good morning, handsome" her soft voice said. "Morning, beautiful how did you sleep?" I asked her laying on my side to face her.
"Really good, last night was just perfect" she told me and I agreed. We're now engaged and she's going to be Queen in a week.
"Yeah, it was and hopefully it won't be our last night together like this" I said placing my hand over hers. "It won't be, and with that being said" she rolled over on top of me pressing our bodies together.
"You're not going to be going anywhere for a while" Beth smirked crashing our lips together.
Not going to lie, I loved it and I loved her. My hands found their way to her hips bringing her closer to me deepening the kiss. A quick turnover and I was in control not breaking the kiss. I brought my lips to her neck and she giggled until I heard her say "Liam.." the soft moan escaped her lips as I smirked against her neck. Suddenly a knock came across the door and Beth groaned pushing me beside her on the bed and standing up. She wrapped her robe around her body and went to answer the door.
"Morning, your highness, the King and Queen wanted for you to join them downstairs for breakfast" I heard Annabel say. I sat up as I saw Beth roll her eyes.
"Very well, I will be down soon" she then closed the door and turned back to look at me.
"Now where were we?" she said looking at me. I chuckled
"We were about to get dressed to have breakfast with them" I told her receiving a pout in exchange.
"Do we have to?" she whined coming over to me and laying on top of me. I had wrapped my arms around her in a hug "Yes, we do, just to hear what they have to say" she sighed before going over to her closet.
"I might have clothes of my father that you could wear" Beth said going through the different color cloths.
It took a minute until I felt her throw something over me. She showed me where an extra room was and I went inside letting her close the door on her way out. Placing the clothes on the King size bed in the middle of the room, I went into the bathroom and found a towel before turning on the shower water. As the water hit me I started thinking about everything that has happened. I can't believe I'm engaged. Me, Liam James Payne, marrying a princess who is soon-to-be Queen. I wasn't expecting to find love not even hoping I would find it, but I guess it found me. Beth is truly amazing and beautiful. None of the less she makes me happy.
I finished up my shower then wrapped a towel around my waist and headed back into the room where the clothes lay. I slipped into my boxers and some dark pants with a light blue button down and a black vest and tie. Looking at myself in the mirror, I ran my fingers through my short hair and fixed my tie. There was a knock on the door and I went to answer it.
"Well if it isn't my beautiful fiancée" I said smiling at Beth as she stood there in the doorway.
She was wearing a short beige bow belt lace tube dress with some leopard printed flats. Her wavy hair was pulled to the side into a ponytail leaving a few short curls out to the side. Beth just smiled at me and came into the room looking at me in amazement.
"My fathers clothes fits you just nicely" she said wrapping her arms around my neck. I pecked her lips. "Are you ready?" I nodded and we walked out of the room hand in hand.
Downstairs there was a table set up with different silverware and placement settings and sitting there was the King and Queen along with that Prince they tried to set Beth up with. The Queen caught us first before whispering into the Kings ear which made him look at our way.
"Good morning, Elizabeth" her mother spoke which made Beth cringe and I squeezed her hand making her look at me.
"Morning, mother" she said taking a deep breath before looking at the King.
"David" Beth's voice had monotone in it as she spoke to him.
"Elizabeth, Liam" I nodded before I guided Beth over to the empty chairs at the table. "Gabriel, if it matters" the prince spoke up.
"Not really" I heard Beth mutter and chuckled at her. Second later our food was brought out and the King cleared his throat.
"Now I think we need to have a discussion about what happened last night at the ball" he spoke.
"You think? I came here to be married to a princess and I'm traded out by some-" the prince spoke until Beth cut him off. "I rather you watch the words that come out of your mouth" she spat at him.
I grabbed her hand and she squeezed it while still glaring at the prince. "Now Gabriel and Liam can you please excuse us with my daughter?" the Queen spoke. Gabriel was the first to get up and walk out while I looked back at Beth who just nodded at me. I pecked her cheek before getting up from the table. Once outside the dinner hall, I saw Gabriel leaning up against the wall. "You know this is all your fault, right?" he said to me but I just ignored him walking outside onto the large balcony. "Hey, I'm talking to you or does Beth do all the talking for you?" that made me turn and look to see the smirk on his face. "I can talk for myself I'm choosing not to answer to you with a response that's too much for your IQ" his smirk turned into a scowl and he glared at me. "Why don't you just leave and go back to where you belong in peasantry" "Because I'm wanted here, by Beth who chose me and loves me" I told him grinning.
"She deserves a prince who can provide for her and be a leader to her country-" "Which is why Liam is the perfect fit as a leader" we looked toward the entrance way and there stood Beth. "You're making a mistake. Princess" Gabriel started to say. "He's not fit to run a country, let alone has the proper training to lead it in the right direction" Beth rolled her eyes and took a step closer towards us. "You know what, Gabriel you're right" her response made me look at her confused. Gabriel smiled at that "You are more fit to run a country and with your training and experiences, you can make one heck of a leader" Beth spoke and her words hurt me. So she doesn't think I'm good enough? That I can handle it? "Well, thank you, I'm glad you're finally seeing what you're missing" at that I began walking towards the entrance. "Yeah, no, I'm just saying that because my country is better off without you and experiences, which why today, you're leaving so I can move forward with Liam by my side" I stopped in my tracks. I looked back at her "Truth is, Liam will be a great King like my father was, because he doesn't need any training on how to run a country, it's just his natural instincts" Beth smiled at me and I returned it before going over and picking her up and swinging her around. "Ok, fine whatever, I don't need this place, I can run my own country by myself" was the last thing we heard before Gabriel walked back inside. Slowly I set Beth back on the ground. "You actually think I can do this?" I asked her looking into her eyes. "No" my mouth dropped and she giggled.
"I believe we can do this"
