Chapter 16: The Surprised Guest

Beth's POV
I woke up with the Sun shining it's way through my windows and turned over to see a rose and a note. I open the note and smiled

It's our wedding day at last beautiful. I'll see you at the alter my soon to be wife ;)
Love your soon to be husband Liam

That's when it hit me. It's our wedding day! I shrieked and hoped out of bed going over to the bathroom. After a hot and steamy bath, I wrapped myself up in my robe and walked out of the bathroom brushing my wet hair. Knocking came across the door and I answered letting Annabel and Mrs. Tomlinson walk in carrying my dress and Grace carrying her dress and her hair and makeup bag. "Today is the big day" Grace chimed coming over to hug me. "I know finally" we both chuckled. "Alright, Beth I hope you like what I've added to it" Mrs. Tomlinson said smiling. You see I haven't exactly seen my dress due to how much of a surprise I wanted it to be. "I'm sure I will love it, don't worry" we giggled and Grace pulled me over to my chair to start my hair. "Okay, so we have 4 hours until the wedding starts so we need to be getting to it!" She said and she started on my hair.

After about two hours, she was finally finished with my hair and makeup. "Voilà" she turned me towards the mirror and I gasped. My hair was curled down my back with my bangs curled up into a tiny bump and my makeup was natural looking with a golden bronze touch up around my eyes. "You look gorgeous my darling" Grace said snapping her fingers and we laughed. I hugged and thanked her. "Okay, let's do the dress!" Mrs. Tomlinson said walking inside in her wedding attire.

Once we got me inside the dress, my mouth dropped at how amazingly beautiful it looked. It was all white fitted corset top with gold jewel designs cascading down to the puffy bottom part. "Oh my goodness it looks so beautiful!" I said feeling the tears coming. "Oh don't cry you'll ruin the make up" Grace whined making me chuckled as I hugged Mrs. Tomlinson. "Wait until you see the veil" she said picking up a matching veil with a tiara attached. "I seriously love it thank you" Grace placed the tiara right in place of my curly bump of hair. "You look beautiful your majesty" Annabel said smiling at me. "Thank you, but why aren't you dressed for the wedding?" I asked her and she looked at me confused. I looked over at Grace who held up a knee length gold dress and silver shoes. "Your majesty, it's beautiful" "Well it'll have to be for a bridesmaid, go on get dressed" I told her and she smiled taking the dress into the bathroom to wash and change.

Liam's POV
The guys were in my room getting dressed after staying over last night. "I can't believe you're getting married today lad" Niall said buttoning up his shirt. Louis scoffed "I can believe it, he was built to be a married man" he joked. "But seriously how do you feel?" Niall asked me. "Excited really, I'm marrying the love of my life today and I get to spend every waking moment with her from morning to night" I told them. "Who could blame you? She's hot" Harry said coming out of the bathroom fixing his bow tie. "I've seen the dress and yes she is" Louis said high diving Harry. "Hey that's my soon to be wife you're talking about" I said pointing a finger at them.

"Ignore them" Zayn said pushing Harry out of the way. "We're really happy for you man" he told me patting my back. "Thank you, now Harry how did it go with the cake?" I asked him and his eyes widen before running out of the room. "Okay..Zayn how about your paintings?" I turned to him. "Already on it" then he was gone. "Louis, you go help Carlos and Niall go check on the wine bar" they both nodded before heading out of the room. I sighed before sitting on the bed with my hands to my head.

"You seem nervous" I looked up and saw no one. "Hello? Who's there?" I asked looking around. "Come down to the study and I'll show you" the voice said again but then I realized that the voice was in my head. I got up and made my way out the door and walked down to Beth's father study. "Go inside and lock the door behind you" I did as I was told and looked around. "Okay I'm here now show yourself" I said. The lights went out and came back on revealing a man in front of me. "Whoa! How did you-" "Does it really matter?" he chuckled. "Who are you?" I asked him and he looked beside us at a painting. "I clearly thought you would've recognized me by now" he said and I turned to see the painting of Beth's...father. I looked between the two and gasped. Same eyes, same hair, same...everything!

"You're Beth's father aren't you?" he nodded with a smile. "It's nice to finally meet you Liam" he said stretching out his hand. I gladly shook it surprisingly I could feel him as if he's here. "Nice to meet you too, Sir. Beth mentions you a lot" I told him. "Yeah and she speaks to me a lot as well" he chuckled. "But I wanted to talk to you about her" his voice was serious now. We took a seat on his small leather couch before he began. "I can see that you really care about my daughter as I see she does for you too. You two were match made by the heavens as I someday hoped that you two would meet and get married since you were children. Your father and I predicted it you know" of course they were best friends. I nodded "He always talked about you and when you passed he was very uneasy for almost a year" I told him remembering that time.

"What exactly happened to you?" I asked him. "My brother David, who I'm sure you've met, had me disappeared into the darkest place of Renovia" he explained to me and it clicked. "He kidnapped me the same way, the man on the ship said it was to keep Beth from marrying me and keeping her power as Queen" he nodded. "David thought that to get what he wanted he had to make people disappear and with Elizabeth being too young to rule in my place, he took it and married my wife, telling people that I had died in some freak of nature accident" of course it all made sense now. "You said he made you disappear, but you never said he killed you, so does that mean you're..?" "Alive? You were able to touch me so I would assume so" he chuckled as did I.

"What made you come back?" I asked him. "Well it is my daughter's wedding day. Do you think she will be mad at see me?" He asked me and I shook my head. "I think she will be ecstatic to see her father and walk her down the aisle" I smiled and he smiled as well standing up. "My daughter is very lucky to have you as her husband and King" he said holding out his hand. I chuckled pulling him into a hug. "Thank you sir" I pulled away and saw the clock saying it was an hour until the wedding. "I better go finish changing, don't wanna be late for my own wedding" I joked before walking out.

I returned back to my room where I saw the guys including Carlos pacing around. "Where have you been? We've been all over for you" Louis said looking at me. "Sorry I just needed a bit of fresh air" I lied but it was for the best. "Hey um Liam?" I turned and looked at Carlos. "Thanks for letting me be a part of your wedding" I smiled placing my hand on his shoulder. "Without you, there wouldn't have been a wedding if you hadn't found me that day" I told him and we nodded.

Garrett walked in and announced that it was time to leave now and we headed out.
