Beth's POV

I was humming the song A Whole New World from Aladdin as I brushed my wavy hair with my brush. I was wearing a smile that never left my face since this afternoon and frankly I didn't want it to. Setting my brush down on my dresser, I went over to the glass doors that held on the other side my balcony over the garden. A cool breeze flew past me as I leaned over the edge.

"Oh, Father, I can tell this was your doing with you letting me meet Liam but I don't blame you, he's amazing and the son of your best friend" I said looking over the garden. That's when it hit me. "Father what am I to do? I'm supposed to be marrying some other prince that mother and David picked out for me but I want to be with Liam even though I'm not sure of his feelings but I'm sure of mine" I whispered feeling sadness cover my face. A strong gush of wind hit me making my hair blow in all direction. "Ok ok enough with the wind, I'll figure it out when I can" and with that I returned inside locking the doors shut.

The clock read 5pm and if Liam read my letter, I'll be meeting him in an hour. Going over to my closet, I pulled out a black sweater with a red and black plaited skirt then placed them on my bed. I ran myself a bath then got in letting the warmth of the water clean and relax my body. Once I was completely dried off, I got dressed in my clothes and slipped on some black wedge heel ankle boots. My hair was put up in a side ponytail letting the waves of curls become more calm before the "wind" blew it out. I checked myself over in the mirror and smiled at the reflection. I bet you're wonder, 'How on earth is she going to get out without being noticed?' simple. When I was a little girl, my father showed me all of the secret passage ways throughout the castle. Mother nor David know of them only Father and I knew and it was forever our secret. One of those hidden passageways is inside my closet where a door was hidden at the bottom of it.

I walked down the small spiral stairs that lead to the garden outside and I found myself running towards the lake the best way I could so I wouldn't get noticed. Ok I know you think that the castle is surrounded by the lake which it is but there's this little trail before you hit the main road to go to the town through the trees. Finally I made it to the spot and saw him. Sitting there wearing a black jacket with a blue shirt and dark jeans and shoes looking over the water.

I smiled and hugged him from behind causing him to jump and look at me. "Hello there" he said casually and I nodded at him chuckling. "I missed you, Liam" I admitted because I did. After our last encounter here I wanted to see more of him and prayed I'd see him again. Like today. "I missed you too, but can you please explain more to me about the whole royalty thing, I wanna get to know you better" he told me and I smiled nodding before sitting next to him on the green grass.

I began telling him about my Father and my mother and how our family was before he died leaving me to my mother and uncle. I also told him about my plans when I become Queen which interested him more and he seemed surprised by them. "I just wanna finish what my Father started for our kingdom and help the people so everyone is taking care of and no one is left behind" I explained as I leaned my head against his shoulder. Liam wrapped his arm around me and had me look at him.

"You are going to make a great Queen one day, Beth and you'll do your Father proud" he said and that made me tear up a bit. "Thanks Liam, now it's your turn to tell me your story" we both giggled before he started to tell me his side of life. That night I learned about how he works with his dad and spends most of his time helping the townspeople along with the rest of his family. He plans to try and do more for the people like I want to do and that made me smile. He's so caring and kind and I realized that I was falling for him but I can't rush anything.

A slight wind whooshed by us and I shivered. "You cold?" Liam asked pulling me between his legs and wrapping his jacket around me along with his arms. "Not anymore" I told him before looking up at him. His eyes were warm and getting lost was easy to do. My eyes traveled from his eyes to his lips then back up to his eyes as the silence rose between us. I hesitated before slowly leaning in as well as he did but before our lips could touch he breathed out a sigh and looked away. That made me frown a bit. Maybe he doesn't like me that way and just sees me as a friend. "I'm sorry" he whispered.

I shook my head "No you're fine, I gotta go" I said going to stand up but he grabbed my hand to stop me. I was confused by it "It's not that I didn't want to kiss you, because believe me I do, but I'm just scared" he admitted to me. "Please don't leave" he begged and slowly I came back to the ground back to the place I was before looking at him. "What are you scared of, Liam?" "Growing feelings for you, because you're a princess who deserves the greater things in life and belongs with a prince not a regular guy like me" I felt my eyes soften as he looked away back towards the water.

"Liam, in fairytales, the princess always chooses to be with a prince but this isn't a FairyTale it's reality, and truth be told, after all of the princes I've met, I would choose you over all of them without a single doubt because I like you a lot Liam" I came right out and said it. It was out there, my feelings for Liam were out there and I had placed my heart on my sleeve for him. "Y-you like me?" he stammered and I giggled before grabbing his face and pulling his lips towards mine.

My heart was pounding in my chest as our lips moved perfectly together like the harmony to a song. I pulled our lips away and he just stared at me in utter shock. "Does that answer your question?" I asked and he just smiled before stroking my cheek with his hand. "I like you a lot too, Beth and this time there's no doubting it" he then kissed me and I smiled through the kiss. Liam pulled my body closer to him as I ran my fingers through his hair and it feel amazing to do this. I didn't want to let him go but sadly the sound of the castle bell rang and that was my cue to leave.

As his lips left mine, I felt the need to grab him again and pull him close to me again. "Looks like you have to go" he whispered breathing heavily as I was. "Sadly yes, but what does this mean for us?" that question hit me before I knew the words came out of my mouth. He smiled at me wrapping his arms around my waist and looking down at me. "What ever you want us to be, Beth, I would to call you mine and be able to do this whenever we can" he pecked my lips and I smiled. "Call me yours and take care of my heart because I chose you Liam Payne right from the very start" then I pulled him in a lingering kiss that I knew I'll think about later. The bell rang once again before we parted ways leaving the kiss as our goodnight as words could never compare or live up to.

Coming back into my room, there was a knock on the door. "Come in" I called out and in came Annabel. "Dinner is ready and the King expects you for dinner" she told me and I nodded my head before sending her off. What could he possibly want to talk about? Doesn't matter, nothing he can say or do ruin my evening. Letting my hair hang from its ponytail, I placed my tiara on my head and walked out of my room and headed down the main stairs to the dining room. I only saw David at the table and silently walked over to the table.

"Good evening, Elizabeth" I cringed but nodded before taking my seat. "Evening David, where is my mother?" I asked him. "She had to send off a. Few more requests for the ball and will be joining us shortly" his tone sounded different almost as if he had something more to say, more anger but it was covered. "What happened today in the town?" he asked darting his eyes at me but I showed no fear towards him. "The invitations were given out-" I started to say before he cut me off. "Yes to the people of the town, everyone in the town actually so I'm told" he said and I nodded.

"Yep I wanted the whole kingdom to attend the royal ball that celebrates my coming of age as well help prepare it" I explained to him with a smirk on my face. "Elizabeth! You did not clear this with me or your mother " "Because it's my ball that celebrates me not the royal family, you got what you wanted for choosing who I marry so I'm choosing on how my party will be and that's done" I said before standing up.

"I think we're done here" I said smiling just a dinner arrived. "Send mine up to my room, Annabel" I told her once I saw her. "Yes, your highness" she nodded. "Elizabeth, we are not done with this conversation!" David yelled slamming his fist on the table. "Actually we are done, your majesty, so instead of telling me what to do, take a anger management class" and with that I walked out of the dining hall and back up to my room.

Father, if what I did was wrong then forgive me but as I have told you before, I'm taking back my life rather
