Chapter VIII : Visiting Darrien

Nacre has been walking in the forest for a few while. He's on his way to Darrien's house because he wants to have a talk with him about.. what happened the day Hex died and this red dot appeared on his palm. He could just talk it out with his friends and parents but.. he didn't want to worry them. He decided to talk to Darrien about this because he knew this won't make Darrien worried about him but he hoped he can help him figure out about this.

Darrien's house is pretty much far away outside of Nightmare's Kingdom. His house is located deep inside the forests. It's not because he wants to be alone, but it was because Dust choose a place far away from Nightmare so Darrien would stay hidden from him. Yes, Darrien is the son of Dust and Nightmare. They had him way before Nacre or even the Horsts brothers and Malice are here.

From what Nacre had heard of his story, Dust had Darrien before Horror, Error and Cross were recruited by Nightmare long ago. Nightmare and Dust did have a close relationship as lovers, however when Dust had Darrien.. Nightmare wanted him to dispose of him and told him that they should stop being lovers and back to being a boss and his henchman. Or at least, friends.

Dust didn't dispose of Darrien, he took care of him for five years. Yet he also left him when he is having Horrid and Hostile with Horror. Darrien has been living alone since then.

Speaking of Horror, he knew about Darrien's existence. When he was four, Horror helped Dust took care of him. Even though they still left him in the end.

Darrien had to survive all alone. Then, when he found Horrid and Hostile on his search looking for Dust, the incident happened when Nacre were twelve years old. The incident that caused Horrid to have a large hole on his head and scars on his eye, and caused Hostile to also have some scars on his eyes. His personality also changed drastically after that incident. Nacre, Diaval and Malice were there when that happened.

That's why, Horrid always gets mad and angry when he knew that Nacre's been visiting Darrien from time to time.

To this day, Nacre knew that Darrien has always been stalking the Horsts. Watching them from outside of their house. Watching them from afar when they're out of the house. Sometimes, he watched Nacre and Nightmare as well but very rarely.

Nacre stopped his steps once the house is on the view. He stood near one of the trees surrounding the house as he looked up and stare at the house. Two floored house. A house that's not too big and not too small. Just fit for a family of two or three.

But it's only one person living inside that house now.

Nacre looked at his palm for a second, before starting to walk towards the house. He stopped in front of the door, taking a deep breath before knocking on the wooden door.

For a moment, there was no response. Maybe he's not home at the moment? Nacre thoughts. He was about to knock once more, but the door is opened, revealing a hooded skeleton with half of his face is covered with black goop and some tentacles behind his back.

Darrien.

Darrien frowned as soon as he saw Nacre. He doesn't seem pleased to see him again. Before Nacre greets him, Darrien sighed and he was about to close the door but Nacre immediately stopped him by grabbing the door knob,

"Uh hey! Wait, I just-- need to talk to you about something."

Darrien stared at him for a second, unamused and uninterested. That almost makes Nacre feel nervous around him. Almost.

"... This better be important." Darrien said, opening the door once again and mentioned Nacre to come inside.

"It is. It's very important. Excuse me." Nacre said as he walked inside the house. Darrien closed the door and walked away from it to the living room. Nacre followed him. The house is pretty much comfy, warm and cozy.
