Chapter VI : Late Birthday Party

"Nacre?"

He opened his eyes, looking confused for a second before turning around to see Error behind him. He found Error leaning on the doorway to Nacre's room with a very soft and gentle smile.

"Oh, sorry, Dad. What's the matter?"

Nacre asked, smiling softly.

"Everyone is waiting in the living room downstairs."

Error said. Nacre gave him a confused look for a second and asked,

"Everyone? Did something happened?"

Error shakes his head, "No. Come on, let's go downstairs."

Nacre nods his head. Error walked out of the room but Nacre stood near the glass doors to the balcony in his room. He stared at the doorway where Error leaned on before for a moment before moving his eyes to the mirror on the wardrobe. He stared at himself.

That's weird.

Nacre was sleeping since last night, he woke up because he heard his dad calling him. But when he opened his eyes he's already standing near the glass doors to the balcony, feeling fresh and looking all clean and ready in his usual clothing as if he had already woken up hours ago.

Did I.. sleepwalking?

Nacre looked at his hand, the one with a red dot on his palm. As soon as he saw the red dot, he was lost in his thoughts until someone called him.

"Hey."

Nacre snapped out of his thoughts as he looked at the door, Error is there again with arms crossed.

"Oh- sorry, dad.. let's go downstairs."

Nacre walked towards Error, closing the door behind him before walking away with Error.

As they both walked through the hallway in silence, Error noticed that Nacre seems to be lost in his thoughts as always. Error might not always be here in the castle, but he always noticed if Nacre stayed quiet it means there is something bothering him. However, even if Error he asked him about what's he's thinking of, Nacre would say that it's nothing. Sometimes he would tell what's wrong, but most of the time he always tried to hide whatever it is that bothers him.

Something is clearly bothering him right now but Error didn't bother to ask. He'll watch his son silently and talk to Nightmare about it.

Soon, they walked down the stairs and still have to go through the long hallway before reaching the living room. Error would have just opened a portal right in front of the living room where the others are right now, but he enjoys walking with his son in the hallway even though they were both quiet.

Soon, they reached the living room. The door is still closed. Nacre finally snapped out of his mind after seeing Error stopping in front of the door as he looked at it. Error stood in front of the door, looking at Nacre with a soft smile.

Nacre smiled back, but it's more of a smile of confusion. He said everyone is waiting in this living room, waiting for what? Nacre thoughts, wondering why is everyone waiting in the room.

Error held both of the door knob and opened the doors widely. And then suddenly,

"Happy Birthday, Nacre!!"

Everyone in the room, his friends, their parents and even his own parents wished him a happy birthday and the confetti showered the birthday boy. They're all wearing birthday hats. Nacre stood there by the door with a face full of surprise, then he laughed softly. This birthday party is very late and Nacre wasn't expecting that they still want to celebrate his birthday.
