chapter sixteen

Around 10:00 am, Jisoo reached her house. She tiredly went to drink water in the kitchen when she noticed a note in the refrigerator.

I will be away for two weeks due to a small trip with my boyfriend. Take care of yourself and don't forget to eat okay! Update me everything once I get back! Ily!

"Guess it's just me and no one else right now." Jisoo yawned turning towards her bed and jumped on it. She had a hard time hiding behind the couch and under the bed.

"Why was I hiding anyways? It's not like we did anything." Jisoo thought. She then smacked her head for thinking stupid.

"I wonder when the serial killer will stop killing people..."

Time skipped to a busy afternoon. Eunwoo and Arin were now driving towards the forest nearby the university. Although the saying goes that it was too close to uni, Eunwoo thought it was not entirely true. He mentally noted the time that there was a distance of thirty minutes at least from the university if any vehicle is taken. Walking can take more time.

"Kai's postmortem reports are recieved. There is nothing special as usual."

"I didn't expected anything."

"But there was something more this time."

"What?" Eunwoo was eager to know what they found this time.

"The experts found a injected point behind his neck."

"That means..."

"Sir, do you remember the glass I found in the crime  which kind of smelt suspicious?"

"Yes?"

"It's drugs."

"But..what does it...no way!"

"I am not surprised that you got that quickly, sir."

"Arin, do you think drug peddlers are involved? "

"Maybe but I hope not. This might also be to distract us."

"I think I kind of get it how it happened?"

"You mean how he died?" Arin was surprised. Eunwoo smirked.

"Is that why we are going there?"

"We must have missed something."

"We have no evidence, no suspect, only victims. The crazy part the witnesses don't count either. Like who would believe a dark shadow? Public will think we are getting crazy."

"More like public opinion are bashing police for doing a bad jobs."

"That includes us. We have to something to stop this crazy murders."

"I agree but I always feel something else."

"Like?"

"As if this isn't going to be any end to this at all."

They reached the forest. This time they are entering through a different route (it was previously chosen by Taehyung and Jisoo who came for assignment the same day).

"I wonder if anyone knows about this route." Arin said.

They followed a trail which made them believed that people actually uses this route.

"The map is legit." Eunwoo said taking out from his back pocket.

They walked and walked until they passed the notice board having a cottage sign.

"Hm, that's weird." He thought and suddenly his eyes went down on the ground.

"What's this?" He found a fragment from a keychain. "I think I have seen it somewhere but I don't remember."

"What sir?"

"No, nothing."

Meanwhile, Jisoo slept like log the entire day. She quickly got out of the bed thinking she missed the bus. Upon realising she had no class that day, she went back to sleep.

Later, she was awaken by a phone call. Jisoo picked up but nobody spoke anything from the other hand. Jisoo kept saying hello, hello but there was no answer.

"Wtf. Stupid phone call interuppting my sleep." Jisoo was having a peaceful time sleeping again only to be ruined by the same phone call.

"Who is this? And why do you keeping calling me?"

There was no answer. When the third time it happened, Jisoo decided not to pick up at all. Unaware of anything, a message popped up that said, "they are coming, they are coming.."
