I was anxiously waiting for Em to arrive when I heard a knock. She looked absolutely gorgeous. She was wearing a white short dress with a jean jacket over it with high heels. I was about to start talking when Avia rushed over to her.
"Happy birthday!" she said as she gifted Em the lip-gloss Em tried to steal one week ago.
They had a conversation that I didn't pay much attention to but for some reason ended in Em taking three hits off Avalyn's bong? After that she started talking to Devan. From what I observed they seemed frustrated with each other but walked over to somewhere else. I went to the kitchen to grab a drink when I saw Kody.
"Hey," I said feeling guilty. "How ya been?"
"What do you think?" Kody sighed. "I caught my best friend sexting with the girl he knows I have a crush on and he didn't tell me about it."
"Kody, it's not what it looks like-"
"That's what my dad said to my mom and it turned out exactly how it looked," he scoffed.
"Let me get Avia, she'll tell you herself," I looked at him. "Speak of the devil."
Avia walked into the kitchen. She realized we were talking about her and I knew she had gotten the wrong idea. Her face went red and she turned around.
"Wait Avia!" I begged. "Tell Kody you sent the photo yourself and I didn't ask for it!"
She looked embarrassed. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Cut the shit Avia." Kody glared at me. "Did he ask for the pictures?"
She looked terrified. "Yep. He asked for them but please don't tell anyone!"
Kody forced a smile. "Don't worry, I won't. Just enjoy the party-" she ran away before he could finish his sentence. He looked at me and flipped me off. "Fuck you, Quinn. Fuck you."
The second he walked away I burst into tears. Luckily nobody was in the kitchen to watch me. I caught myself and leaned over the counter feeling defeated. I saw Em sitting on the couch wearing the same look as me. I walked over and sat down. I was about to ask if she was okay but she asked first.
I said as much as I could about the Kody situation without explicitly saying what happened. We chatted a bit before she consoled me and gave me a hug. She could tell how miserable I was.
It was nice until Devan stormed in screaming at us. Half-way through his rage-fest, she left the party. Devan just flipped me off before going back outside with Kody.
I scrolled through TokTik on my phone until going back outside to grab a drink. As I walked out, I saw Devan making out with Rebecca in the pool.
"Devan! What the fuck?" I yelled. "You have a girlfriend!"
"Yeah," Rebecca was slurring her words. "Me. You got a problem with that?"
"I was referring to Em."
"Oh," Devan rolled his eyes. "You mean the girlfriend who was just cuddling with you?"
"There's a big difference between a hug and making out with some bitch," I scoffed.
