"Hey, how was the movie?" my mom asked as we got in the car.

"Fine," Alex and I answered simultaneously.

"Alex, you love Pink Peach Ice Cream Princess, what do you mean?" She asked.

"He ran into his ex or something," I grumbled.

"His ex? Do you mean that boy he has a crush on?" She laughed.

"For the last time, I don't like him! I THINK HE'S COOL! I ran into a dumb girl I used to date."

My mom looked shocked. "You dated a girl? Damn it, my friend and I had a bet going and I owe her like ten bucks now."

I raised an eyebrow. "What was the bet?"

"I bet her ten bucks Alex was gay."

"I'm eight."

"And your favorite move is about a princess and cats."

"You're stereotyping me." Alex began playing on his phone. "Heterophobe."

"Just let him get TokTik and make him befriend the emo kids in middle school. You'll get your wish," I scoffed.

"I wish it was that easy. Why are you being a pouty bitch?" She asked.

"I had to watch a two hour movie about a princess getting stuck in an unknown kingdom and her love interest has to get her out."

"I'm ninety-percent sure you've watched a porn with the same plot. What's getting you down, seriously?"

"Mom, what the actual fu-heck. Whatever, we're home. Leave it be it's just internet drama."

"What were you about to say?" She asked as we walked in.

I let out a fake laugh and ran upstairs. I started crying the minute I was in my room. I knew Em was right. I had messed up everything for her. She was finally happy and I ruined it. I knew Em had been the one keeping me afloat these last few weeks, but I didn't know I was drowning her in the process.
