"Boss?" my assistant called.

"Yes, Jin," I said, not sparing him a glance.

"I wanted to inform you that the Montague's party is in two hours."

"The who?" I looked at him, confused.

He pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
"Richard, Boss... Richard Montague."

"Oh, right. That guy. Why didn’t you tell me about this earlier?"

"I sent you an email this morning, sir."

"Why didn’t you tell me face-to-face?"

"I do recall you telling me to ‘leave you alone’ when you arrived at work."

Oh… My fault. But I wasn’t admitting that.

"I was in a bad mood, Jin. You, of all people, should have known that." I massaged my forehead.

"Ever since we left Seoul, you’ve been in a bad mood. And it’s been over a month, sir."

He wasn’t lying. I wasn’t exactly angry, but I wasn’t happy either. Let’s just say I was a little… grumpy.

Coming back here after six years wasn’t as exciting as I thought it’d be. There was a reason I avoided this city and country in general.
A lot of reasons.

"...and I like the food they have here, Boss. You should try their—"

"Just get me a suit, Jin," I dismissed him with a wave.

"You mean a tuxedo, sir?"

I shot him a glare.

"Suit it is," he scrambled out of my office.

I chuckled. Jin had been my assistant ever since my dad decided I was mature enough to run his company. He was two years older than me and refused to call me by my first name, no matter how much I insisted. Eventually, I let it slide.

Right, so… Montague’s. Who are they, again?

I skimmed through my email. Business partners with Park Industries.

Great. They’re important. I haven’t even met these people, and I already dislike them.

And they invited me to their party over a month ago. Were they stalking me?

This was going to be a long night.

7:45 PM

"Sir, the limo is ready," Jin called through my door.

"Would you quit bugging me, Jin?" I said while scrolling through my phone. "I’ll be there in a minute."

"Boss, you said that 15 minutes ago. We’re already late."

One thing about Jin: he was too uptight. I’m the CEO, and I don’t bother about my reputation as much as he does.
