Chapter 6: Rumors and wolves

Ted's POV

I was eating dinner with Granny and Mom. I told Granny about the forest and Lily, the only one who doesn't know is my Mom and I can't tell her, she would scold me from getting out of town and well, she wouldn't believe in the Wolfwalkers, so for now, just me, Audrey and Granny.

"So did you have fun playing with Audrey Ted?" Mom asked me.

"Oh, yeah it was fun....we ate marshmallows" I said and she smiled.

"That's good. Hey, I haven't tell you, since it's probably just a rumor but, two wolves tried getting inside the town and the mayor thank goodness caught them!" Mom said.

"Wait...wolves?" I asked her, wolves? But the only wolves that are near here are in the forest and they don't get out of it.

"Yeah, can you believe it? I thought wolves no longer exist but maybe I am wrong" she said and continue eating.

"Yeah that's kinda....weird" I said and finished my plate.

"Well, I'll go to bed now. Good night Mom, good night Granny" I said and go upstairs to my room.

I changed to my pajamas but my wrist started glowing for a moment and suddenly I heard someone calling me "kid" sounded like a female voice, but my wrist stopped glowing and I a stopped hearing the voice, super weird and creepy. Anyway, I brushed my teeth and lay down on my bed to start falling asleep. Minutes later I started having some kind of nightmare. I was in a forest, following a bright light, when it got closer, it was a wolf! Suddenly it stopped walking and just looked at me, when I blinked it was gone and I was looking at myself. I woke up back in my room and got up.

"Wow, Lily was right, the air really stinks" I talked to myself but when I saw to the mirror in front of me, I was a wolf!!

"No! No! This can't be happening!" I yelled and looked at my body sleeping. Suddenly I heard the door getting opened and it was my mom! Oh no!

"Ted where is that noise co- OH MY GOD!" she yelled.

"No! Mom! It's me! Ted!" I said trying to calm her down but it didn't.

"Ted wake up! There's a wolf in your room!" she yelled, I was scared so I got out of the room through the window quickly as possible. I ran on the ceilings of the houses and reach for Audrey's house, but something shocking happened again. There was a wolf on Audrey's house ceiling too!

"Ted?!" that familiar voice came out of the wolf.

"Audrey?! You are a wolf too?!" I asked her desperately.

"Oh no, you are a wolf too!" she said.

"Audrey! We need to get out of here and find Lily to fix this!" I said and we start running to the metal wall and climbed down. We ran as fast as we could to find the rock wall. When we got there it immediately open as we kept running. We reached for the waterfall where the cave was. When we got to the entrance we saw Lily as a wolf, she looked at us and at that I tripped and roll over to the cave. When I was training to get up, Audrey got inside and helped me but Lily got in front of me and growled at me angrily.

"Lily! Lily! It's me! Ted!" I said as I was covering my face with my tail.

"Wait, Ted? Audrey?" she said and looked at us.

"Something happened to us!" Audrey said and we started walking in circles.

"Yeah, I can see that" Lily said and howled as the other wolves who were just laying down, woke up but the Lorax was there and woke up too.

"Oh no, Lily tell me those wolves are not Ted and Audrey" Lorax said worried.

"Yes, but I thought I fixed the bites! I thought they were going to be fine!" Lily said sitting sadly.

"Oh mommy and daddy will kill me" she said worried now.

"Well my mom almost called people to KILL me!" I said and then I saw the wolves sniffing me and then Audrey, making her feel uncomfortable.

"Hey Hey! Calm down and give them room!" Lorax said and the wolves moved away.

"Anyway, even though this is bad, now I can finally see you like this and it's great! I thought we were the only ones" she said happily.

"Great?! We are Wolfwalkers now!" I said angry at her but she didn't mind.

"I know! Mommy said this should be bad, like, never bite anyone. But! It's exciting! I love it!" Lily said and mess with my furr.

"But people in town doesn't like wolves Lily! What about our bodies?" Audrey asked her and Lily got close to her and her parents' sleeping bodies.

"They're asleep! Nice and warm *lick her bodies' cheek* Look! You are wolves when you sleep! Humans when you are awake, no big deal!" Lily said happily walking to us.

"But the town and my family Lily" I said still worried.

"Don't worry about that! I can show you how too blend and be wolves! Can I grandpa?" Lily said to the Lorax.

"Your daddy will not let you to have marshmallows when he finds out, but, like you said, they're not here and these kids seem to be nice. So...do it" Lorax said and Lily licked his head and he fixed his hair.

"You are the best! Come on!" she said and run to the entrance and Audrey and I followed her.

"Why should want to be human? Being a wolf is way much better! I'll show you two" she said and we got out of the cave and went inside.
